Public benefits

The benefits which flow from this purpose are: The quality of life for all residents will be improved, promoted and developed by the provision of services aimed at tackling poverty related issues through the provision of health, environmental and community safety initiatives. The community will become more stable and sustainable through the

provision of services based on identified area need. The physical transformation brought about by the residents association involvement with the Housing Executive, Belfast City Council, P.S.N.I and Andersonstown Safer Neighbourhood Project will enhance the local area. The benefits of this will be evidenced by the following; By monitoring the number of local residents becoming involved in the group’s work. By the numbers of residents attending planning and information sessions organised by the group. By the group’s representation on local forums i.e. housing consumer panel, building sustainable communities forum, Lenadoon neighbourhood partnership. Providing articles addressing local issues for the lenadoon forum community magazine By feedback from the local residents. No harm arises Beneficiaries include local residents from the upper Lenadoon area. There is no private gain although residents living locally will benefit from information distributed by the group on behalf of the N.I.H.E., Belfast City Council & other agencies and local forums.

What your organisation does

As with the direct benefits which flow from this purpose are: The quality of life for all residents will be improved, promoted and developed by the provision of improved housing, community safety initiatives, working closely with the P.S.N.I. & other agencies bringing benefit to the community. We hold regular public meetings with the residents on

issues affecting the area. Beneficiaries include those living locally. There is no intentional private gain although local residents will benefit by the physical regeneration in the area & identified needs based services.

Charitable purposes

The association is established to provide a forum and resource for the Residents who live in the Upper Lenadoon area,(herein after called the “area of benefit”) without the distinction of age, gender, sexual orientation, nationality, disability, political and religious opinion, in a common effort to advance education and to provide facilities in the interests of social welfare, recreation and other such leisure time activities, with the object of improving the conditions of life for all said inhabitants.
