Public benefits
The Trustees of “The Friends of Loreto” believe that our purpose satisfies both elements of the Public Benefit Requirement. The direct benefit which flows from the advancement of education and promoting the benefit of the pupils include the development of the holistic education of young people , promoting, sustaining and increasing individual and
collective knowledge by providing additional and improved resources and facilities. The pupils will be able to learn and grow as more rounded individuals as they will have the benefit of equipment, facilities and activities to engage in recreational, cultural, social and sporting activities in addition to the traditional academic educational activities. The provision of additional and up to date resources will facilitate teaching to the highest level and provide opportunities for our students to reach their full potential. These benefits can be demonstrated through a process of self-evaluation, Pupil and parent feedback and official statistics. The direct benefit which flows from fostering an Alumni is that past pupils of the school are able to keep involved with furthering the education of the pupils of the school and they are able to help and support each other. It is a great opportunity for them to give something back to the school as the past pupils will become involved in activities to further the current pupils education, such as demonstrating the wide range of careers available to them. By Fostering more extended relationships with everyone involved in the school past and present, it will give a sense of community and that the school is part of the community and the pupil’s future. The purpose does not lead to any harm. The direct beneficiaries of this purpose are the young people who currently attend Loreto College and future generations who attend. There will also be a wider public benefit from a group of well-educated young people. The alumni of the College are also beneficiaries. A private benefit may be to teaching staff from improved working conditions but these benefits are incidental and necessary to ensure the benefit is provided to our beneficiaries.
