Purpose (i) The direct benefits which flow from this purpose include increased access to programmes in employment, education and training, community and social activities, welfare advice increased access to healthy living information, health and fitness activities, therapies, mental health and a reduction in social exclusion. These benefits can
be demonstrated by recording the numbers of people who access our services and measuring these against the priorities, outcomes and targets established in our annual action plan for the OuterWest NRA. Pre and post evaluation activities are conducted with participants of all OuterWest Ltd activities and programmes. The beneficiaries are the people of the Outer West NRA, Rosemount, Ballymagroarty, Hazelbank, Glen and City area of Co Derry who suffer from social exclusion, are in poverty or at risk of poverty. There is no harm flowing from this purpose. There is no private benefit flowing from this purpose. Purpose (ii) The direct benefits which flow from this purpose include increased access to and participation in programmes that provide social, community, health and education well-being activities, opportunities and interventions for parents, and children, education training and vocational training by residents of the area of benefit and a reduction in social exclusion. These benefits can be demonstrated as outlined in Purpose (i). The beneficiaries are as listed in Purpose (i). There is no harm flowing from this purpose. There is no private benefit flowing from this purpose. Purpose (iii) The direct benefits which flow from this purpose include increased access to and participation in programmes that provide social, community, health and education well-being activities, opportunities and interventions for parents, children, youth, education and training including vocational training by residents of the area of benefit and a reduction in social exclusion. Purpose (iv) The direct benefits which flow from this purpose include increased access to and participation in education and awareness training including vocational training in drug and alcohol abuse by residents (parents and youth) of the area of benefit and a reduction in social exclusion. These benefits can be demonstrated as outlined in Purpose (i). The beneficiaries are as listed in Purpose (i). There is no harm flowing from this purpose. There is no private benefit flowing from this purpose. OuterWest is a Neighbourhood Renewal Partnership structure set-up by the Department of Social Development. In line with the Neighbourhood Renewal Strategies, OuterWest Ltd aims to reduce the social and economic inequalities which characterise the most deprived areas of Derry. It does so by making a long-term commitment to communities to work in
partnership with them to identify and prioritise needs and co-ordinate interventions designed to address the underlying causes of poverty and deprivation. Neighbourhood Renewal Partnerships were established as representative of local community interests together with appropriate Government Departments, Public Sector Agencies, Private Sector interest and local elected representatives. Outer West NRA is made up of four areas/estates – Rosemount, The Glen, Ballymagroarty and Hazelbank. OuterWest Ltd aims to take forward the Neighbourhood Renewal Programme. This area suffers from serious levels of deprivation and under-investment and as a consequence requires major investment and support to make positive changes to the Area. OuterWest Ltd focuses on the delivery against the following Transformational Themes: • Health & Well Being • Building Better Communities • Education & Skills • Employment & Economy The Outer West Neighbourhood Partnership is responsible for: · Analysing and prioritising the needs of the Outer West Neighbourhood Renewal Area · Engaging with and consulting local communities to drive and implement Neighbourhood Renewal · Leading the process in the preparation of an Action Plan · Overseeing the implementation of the Action Plan · Reviewing the Action Plan annually to ensure that it reflects the priority needs in the area · Monitoring and evaluating progress against the priorities in the Action Plan quarterly · Publicising and building awareness of Neighbourhood Renewal by informing and updating their local communities of progress made on a regular basis.

Charitable purposes
The objects of the Charity is to deliver social, economic and educational services in the areas of Rosemount, Ballymagroarty & Hazelbank, Glen Community areas, areas within the Crevagh/Springtown Electoral Wards and associated areas that are or may be defined within the Londonderry Neighbourhood Renewal Strategy (hereinafter called “the areas of benefit”) and to educate and assist the areas of benefit and the communities therein through the provision of such necessary services as are needed so as to develop their physical and mental emotional capacities so that they may develop as individuals and members of society and so that their conditions of life may be improved, and in particular: (i) to promote capacity building among young people from the area of benefit who are disadvantaged as a result of their social or economic circumstances in an effort to encourage them to develop confidence and self esteem and leadership skills; (ii) to raise awareness among parents of the needs of young children and the value of pre-school education; (iii) to provide educational and recreational facilities out of school hours such as after school clubs, homework clubs and other facilities of that nature in the interest of social welfare; (iv) to provide education in the areas of drug and alcohol awareness to young people and their parents or carers and promote a better understanding of the dangers of substance abuse; (v) to provide education and support to women in the local area by providing women’s health clinics and support services; (vi) the provision of such other educational and support services as can be sustained for the long-term benefit of the communities.
