The Mount Zion House venue is used to deliver either directly or in partnership a range of beneficial services, programmes and activities to the local community. Exemplars include free targeted health and well-being projects, counselling,

The direct benefits which flow from this purpose include the provision of a shared space bringing together diversities of people from within the community to meet and enjoy social activities; reduced social isolation particularly among older and vulnerable people; enriched mental, physical and spiritual well-being for individuals, acquisition of new skills and multi-cultural enjoyment which promotes community connectedness. Benefits are evidenced through the recording of organisations, individuals and groups using the facility and through regular feedback from users. 2) Promotion of Health - Mount Zion House operates health and wellbeing services that include Trackars domiciliary personal and practical care service to people in the local area, assisting them to remain in their own homes and communities. Praxis Care supports individuals with mental ill health, autism, learning disabilities and dementia; providing innovative, professional, high quality support services to people across the spectrum of need and particularly at the higher level of complexity. The centre also operates as a Healthy Living Centre in partnership with other community and statutory partners offering other physical and mental wellbeing courses to the local community which promote, improve and enhance the physical health and mental being of those accessing the services/programmes. Exemplars include the provision of counselling, management of chronic conditions and alternative therapies. The direct benefits which flow from these activities include improved physical and mental health, a sense of achievement at accomplishing set targets and goals and a sense of well-being. Participants in activities each have reported, feeling happier, less stressed, have acquired new skills and made new friends. These benefits are evidenced through recording service user reviews; annual surveys and obtaining participant feedback. 3) The Relief of Poverty – Mount Zion House relieves poverty by providing free welfare advice through Advice Craigavon, information and tribunal representation to those facing hardship and distress by reason of their social and / or economic circumstances. The charity supports Praxis Care with accommodation that Praxis use for supported living for the vulnerable. The direct benefits which flow from this purpose include financial enrichment for those individuals using the advice and information service; greater confidence in exercising their welfare rights; improved mental well-being, enhanced employability opportunities for individuals and the provision of stable accommodation for the vulnerable. These benefits are evidenced through recording feedback from users; recording benefit enquiries; the provision of outcome focused individual action plans and the number of training and award certificates achieved by individuals which enhance their employability prospects. None of the purposes specified give rise to any harm. Most beneficiaries are mainly people who live in the Armagh City, Banbridge and Craigavon Council area. Private benefits flowing from each of the purposes are gained by staff; voluntary directors; volunteers and their respective families who use the facility or participate in programmes. Such beneficiaries use and participate in programmes in Mount Zion in the same way as all other beneficiaries. Benefits are incidental and necessary to the work of the charity.
