Public benefits
PUBLIC BENEFIT STATEMENT The objects of “VISION IRELAND” shall be to advance the Christian Faith by the holding of such meetings for the worship of God and otherwise and the setting up of such other activities consistent with the Statement of Faith. Our activities are aimed at encouraging people to become followers of Christ through
reading the Bible, both individually and in groups. This would result in them desiring to’ love the Lord their God with all their heart, soul, mind and strength and their neighbour as themselves’. Practically this would be seen in them ‘bearing each other’s burdens’ by caring for others, demonstrated in deep genuine friendships. Reading the Bible would help clarify people’s religious thinking; giving them a framework by which to set their life goals. The beneficiaries would be the people themselves and indirectly their communities. The results would be seen by the changes in the individuals’ lifestyles and increased involvement with their neighbours and friends. This would fulfil the object ‘to enjoy God’s gracious gift of life, developing their abilities and characters for the good of their families, work, local communities and local church’. Religious beliefs could lead to harmful exclusiveness but this is outweighed by the Public Benefit. People who become ‘followers of Christ’ would value others higher than themselves and lovingly care deeply for those of other faiths or political persuasions, fulfilling our object of respecting those who differ from us. This would result in a friendship grouping which include those of differing faiths and political convictions. Active participation in national and local conferences enables us to fulfil the object to 'encourage and support evangelism' in communities of few evangelicals and 'to promote unity' across community divides. No one receives private benefit from these activities.
