Good Morning NI Network is a membership of 22 local Good Morning services and functions within the Northern Ireland policy areas of health and well being, neighbourhood renewal, community development and community safety. The Charity ensures a regional coordinated and sustainable approach to service provision by its 22 members, within an agreed
governance and best practice framework. The Charity’s benefits are provided to older people and other vulnerable adults through the community based support service of its membership i.e. reduction of poverty and isolation; prevention of mental ill health and suicide; increase in independent living and social inclusion; improvement in personal health and well being, reduction in the fear of crime, and an increased awareness of local community and other services. It provides guidance, support, information and training to its membership to maintain a quality service and support to the beneficiaries and their families. The Charity’s purposes also encourage and support volunteers. The Charity promotes volunteering within the older peoples sector which assists older people to re-engage within their local communities and promotes active citizenship The purposes of the Charity could not be regarded as harmful in any way; rather they contribute to the increased reassurance, wellbeing and safety of the beneficiaries through the standards and guidance of its Code of Practice. The private benefit paid to the Development Officer is incidental and is necessary to enable the Charity to meet its aims and objectives by providing a coordinated and sustainable approach to service delivery. GMNI Network supports individual Good Morning services. It leads the development of the Network and assists current services with expansion and capacity building and the provision of external or in house training. It researches and consults on Network activities and has developed a governance model of best practice policies and procedures and a
Code of Practice to promote and encourage standards, as appropriate. It regionally markets and publicises the work of GMNI Network and membership across sectors to maximise public uptake. It supports and coordinates, as appropriate, funding opportunities for the benefit and expansion of Good Morning services and GMNI Network. It is embracing technological advancement to further support independent living of Good Morning service users. It has established a hub and satellite service delivery model to maximise geographical strategy and effectiveness.

Charitable purposes
The Network is established to co-ordinate and support the work of member organisations seeking to relieve older persons and vulnerable adults (hereinafter referred to as the “beneficiaries”) resident in Northern Ireland (hereinafter referred to as the “area of benefit”) who are suffering from loneliness, social isolation and fear of crime by supporting the beneficiaries to remain independent within their homes and communities by the provision of support and services and to encourage beneficiaries to build social networks. To communicate, negotiate and promote their benefit by associating the statutory authorities, community and voluntary organisations and the inhabitants in a common effort to provide services in the interests of social welfare and health and well being and for recreation or other leisure-time occupation and the engagement of the wider inhabitants in volunteer opportunities with the object of improving the quality of life for the said inhabitants and in particular: a) to assist Network organisations in the area of benefit in achieving their mission by providing a coordinated, sustainable approach and assistance in defining, strategising and implementing their mission. b) to provide or encourage the provision of guidance, support, information, training, and quality standards amongst organisations working with the beneficiaries.
