Public benefits

Purpose: to advance education and to provide facilities in the interests of social welfare for health, recreation and leisure-time occupation; The direct benefits which flow from this purpose include: those attending classes - increased self confidence; improved level of skills and knowledge; increased mental health and well being; young people

attending our events – increased self confidence; increased appreciation of their rural area; better social interaction in local community; giving young people opportunities to develop skills previously untapped; foreign nationals – more integrated with local people; improved level of English language; young people mixing at school better integrated; increased social/recreational activities for young people; vintage rally encourages social interaction and promotes pride in their vehicles. These benefits will be evidenced by verbal feedback from participants; evaluation forms; photographs of events; increased levels of participation in activities; record of participants at various events. We do not anticipate any harm leading from the purposes of our charity. The charity’s beneficiaries are people in Mountfield and the surrounding rural areas of Omagh District The only private benefit flowing from this purpose is than a trustee will gain skills and knowledge through our education programme. Through this trustees gain skills which are transferable to other settings. These benefits are incidental and necessary to ensure the benefit is provided to our beneficiaries.

What your organisation does

Mountfield Community Association is a voluntary organisation offering a range of community, social and environmental activities to meet the needs of the people of Mountfield and its surrounding area. Our aim is to develop Mountfield as a place where people want to live, where our residents feel safe, where people want to visit and revisit. We

provide a range of activities, training courses, educational and recreational classes, events, charity functions etc. for various age groups, gender, foreign nationals, cross community and disabled including: ICT; cookery classes; first aid classes; drama club; dancing classes; youth club; day care; concerts; discos/dances; recreational classes; alternative therapies; whist/card games; coffee mornings; self defence classes; age concern; addiction awareness; indoor sports; language classes; kids parties; funeral meals. Over the years the Community Association have organised numerous fundraising and community events including sports days, festivals, sponsored cycles and walks, concerts, treasure hunts, bus trips, Christmas events (kids Santa party), Village Christmas tree and lights, senior citizens dinner. All these events are well supported by the community. We work closely with the community including our local Primary school, youth club, senior citizens group and drama to name but a few. We also act as a voice for their development. This puts us at the heart of our community enabling proactive engagement to take place for the well being of all that reside in the community.

Charitable purposes

The Association is established for charitable objects and purposes only In particular the Association is established to promote the benefit of the inhabitants of the Mountfield area and its immediate environs without distinction of age, sex, race, political or religious or other opinions, by associating the statutory authorities, voluntary organisations, institutions, businesses and inhabitants in a common effort to advance education and to provide facilities in the interests of social welfare for health, recreation and leisure-time occupation; and to promote all or any of the objects for the benefit of the community which now or hereafter may be deemed by law to be charitable.
