The direct benefits which flow from the purpose of Halbert Rural development include: The reduction of social isolation for citizens of Ballyhalbert community and wider rural area; therefore directly improving individual’s health and well-being. These benefits can be demonstrated through recording numbers of citizens who engage in activities. Listening and documenting feedback from members; while responding and adapting to meet changing needs of community. This feedback will be discussed within Halbert rural development meetings, reviewed and recorded when appropriate. The purpose of our charity may lead to the following harm; Ballyhalbert citizens could become dependent on planned activities for social engagement. However we can show that the harm is outweighed by the benefits of social inclusion and the positive impact this has on individual’s health and well-being. The charities beneficiaries are citizens of Ballyhalbert village and those living in the wider rural areas. Also people who have caravans at holiday park will also benefit from community sessions. The private benefit flowing from this purpose is that trustees are also members of local community, and will therefore benefit from the project; this is incidental and necessary because the charity is a grass roots organisation and community members have identified a ‘need’ within their local area.
