Public benefits

Purpose one - to promote play based learning for all children under statutory school age in Caw Ward and surrounding areas. The direct benefits that flow from this purpose include raising awareness of age appropriate play based learning among parents and carers and the provision of early education for children under statutory school age in Caw

ward and surrounding areas. Children are provided with a safe play based environment with developmentally appropriate activities that promote self help skills, personal, social and emotional wellbeing, development of language skills, early mathematical experiences, cognitive ability, fine and gross motor skills, creativity, social interaction and communication. This is in line with the six areas of learning set out by the Department of Education (NI) to promote children's learning in early years. These benefits are evidenced through feedback from parents, Early Years advisors and regular evaluation of the service by Social Services. This purpose does not give rise to any harm. The beneficiaries of the purpose are children under statutory school age living in Caw Ward and surrounding areas. They also include parents and carers of children under statutory school age in Caw Ward and surrounding areas. A private benefit flowing from this purpose is that gained by a trustee from our programme of on-going training in good governance, finance etc which are transferrable to other settings. These benefits are incidental and necessary to ensure the benefit is provided to our beneficiaries. Purpose Two - to promote the preservation of health of the beneficaries. The direct benefits which flow from this purpose include raising awareness of healthy eating, the importance of exercise and outdoor play while also providing a healthy snack and opportunities to play in a stimulating environment. These benefits are demonstrated through feedback from parents and observations recorded by staff which are inspected by Social Services Early Years Department. This purpose does not lead to any harm. The charities beneficiaries are children under statutory school age in Caw Ward and surrounding areas. There is no private benefit from this purpose.
