Public benefits
The benefits which emanate from this purpose include a significant increase in the number of children receiving education in all areas including; safeguarding, child development, nutrition, environmental awareness and social skills from qualified, motivated staff employed by the Group. All delivered at a level appropriate to their age and
development. Having made the transition from home to day-care the children and their families are helped prepare for the onward progression to Primary School. At parent’s request arrangements can be made to provide after school and holiday care facilities to meet family needs. The provision of such care gives support to children during formative years in the primary sector and enables parents to avail of adult education and opportunities to progress to employment. An added bonus is the rapport that is developed between staff and parents, the trust placed by parents in the organisation, its structure and attention to all matters relating to children in their formative years. Benefits which flow from our purpose are demonstrated by regular monitoring of service, the delivery of service and inspection reports from Early Years. Extensive external, internal and on site training provides and supports staff in the acquisition of further skills to enhance their practice and capabilities. Training at Further Education Colleges and University have provided senior staff with opportunities to obtain enhanced qualifications both in management and childcare in line with minimum standards (2013). The beneficiaries are babies and young children their parents and families and ultimately the community as a whole.

Foyle Day Care offers a cheerful environment with a variety of activities for young children to have fun, make friends and enjoy learning through play. Our long term aim is to create an atmosphere of natural affection and security for children, to train them in an orderly may of life, help them become independent and to develop their potential to
the greatest extent. We believe that it is important that each child should be allowed to develop at his or her own pace. We aim to provide high standards of care for a child’s overall well-being. Our menus are varied weekly to provide good nutrition for both vegetarians and standard diets as well as catering for any special requirements. Our staff are fully trained and of the highest calibre. Each member is caring and professional and concerned with the total development of the child’s needs on all levels - physical, social, emotional and intellectual. We have a policy of working closely with parents to make the most of this opportunity to build in each child a set of values that can help sustain them throughout their lives. During the very important early years children depend on adults for intellectual development and our long term aim is to meet the total needs of each child while attending Foyle Day Care.
