Public benefits

The purpose of Portadown Christian Workers Union Hall is to use the Evangelistic Hall for the holding of religious services. The public have a place where they can come to worship God and find the fulfilment, satisfaction and peace that brings to their lives. Relationships are made with the people who come to the services and support and help is

given to them and others in the community when this is needed. Portadown Christian Workers Union Hall is a faith based charitable organization which exists to provide the beneficiaries of the charity with access to public worship within the local area and further afield, if people wish to travel to the services. The beneficiaries of the charity are primarily those living within the local area. The benefits to beneficiaries include a moral improvement within local society, reduced social isolation and the provision of public meetings for worship. Through these and otherwise it fosters and encourages the spiritual development of its members and attenders. This will in turn lead to local involvement and further charitable work by the members. Another benefit is the outworking of the Christian faith by supporting Christian charities and missionaries at the trustees’ discretion. We also provide help and support to addicts and young people through the means of Education, Relief of poverty and Advancement of Health and saving lives The beneficiaries of the organization are the followers or adherents of the religion, the wider church and the public generally. Any member of the public may become associated with a public worship meeting as an attender. These benefits are demonstrated through informal feedback from members, those who attend our services and activities, their families and the community in which we serve and are evidenced through attendance at public meetings of worship and other events. The Trustees are satisfied that the purpose of the charity does not give rise to any harm. The only private benefit flowing from this purpose is that Portadown Christian Workers Union Hall at the discretion of the Trustees financially supports people who are involved in full time Christian work. This is incidental and necessary because it allows the recipients to dedicate their lives full time to advancement of the Christian faith.
