Through the two centres the organisation aims to offer a service to individuals in crisis and create awareness and understanding of the target issues for the wider community. Turning Point NI offer counselling, intervention and support through qualified counsellors and trained volunteers. We have seen the detrimental health and well-being impact first hand of suicidal clients, effects of drugs operating in the area as well as the impact deprivation is having and playing a major part on individual’s mental health. Being able to offer intervention and preventative measures to individuals in crisis point has the potential to save lives, drastically improve the quality of life and empower people to take the necessary steps to achieve their goals. The service provided takes an integrative approach which takes into consideration all the factors within an individual’s life, thus allowing the most appropriate services to be allocated to achieve the best results.
