Public benefits

The benefits which flow from this purpose include improved physical and mental health outcomes, and reduced experiences of isolation in the rural Leitrim area. These benefits are demonstrated through monthly verbal feedback from the members of the senior citizens group, regular committee meetings and an Annual General Meeting. There is no harm

flowing from this purpose. The charity's beneficiaries are the senior citizens in the Leitrim area. The private benefits which flow from this purpose are to 1) The Liatroim Fontenoys GAC who lease their facilities to the Leitrim Senior Citizens Group to host the charity's monthly meetings; 2) The guest tutors/speakers who receive a fee for providing activities/education/information at the charity's monthly meetings; 3) The trustees and members of the charity's committee (chairman, secretary, treasurer ) whose experience and skills may be enhanced due to their involvement in the charity's governance, finance, etc. All of the above benefits are incidental and necessary to ensure the benefits are provided to the charity's beneficiaries.

What your organisation does

The Leitrim Senior Citizens Group work to - reduce social isolation by providing opportunities for seniors in the area to come together; - link with local service providers, statutory agencies and government departments to make seniors aware of services of which they can avail; - network with seniors in other areas - provide opportunities for new

activities, learning, and experiences; - increase the physical activity, mental well being and quality of life for seniors in the Leitrim area.

Charitable purposes

The Association is established to improve the quality of life of senior citizens living in the Leitrim area irrespective of sex, disability, race, sexual orientation, political, religious or other opinion by associating with statutory authorities, voluntary and community organisations and the private sector.
