Public benefits

The benefits of the childcare provision is that it enables high quality affordable childcare enabling children from an area of deprivation to access structured activities that will enhance their social skills and improve their confidence which will promote learning and development. The club is used by a variety of children including children with

additional and special needs through consulting with children and families. Our services include arts & crafts, cooking and sports activities. The Childcare unit has also a fully functioning outdoor play area, so we can provide physical opportunities for children of all ages. Understanding that every child is unique we have incorporated a range of learning styles. We also support the children with homework, however ensuring that there is time to engage in the social and recreational activities provided. We are now delivering a summer scheme that runs for six weeks. The activities include Sports events, cookery, music, dance and day trips. In recent times we have seen an increase in the number of children attending who would be considered to come from ethnic minority backgrounds. In response to this we now deliver a range of creative programmes which explores cultural diversity with the children. Benefits are shown by the number of children that attend Ballee Community Childcare on a yearly basis. The beneficiaries are families from the Ballee Ward and there is no harm or private benefits flowing from the purposes.
