The purposes of Zimbabwe Orphan Care are the relief of poverty, the advancement of education and the advancement of religion initially in the Harare, Zimbabwe and in such other places as the Trustees may decide (hereinafter referred to as “the area of benefit”). (1) the relief of poverty; The direct benefits which flow from this purpose include
a number of humanitarian projects designed to improve living standards for communities suffering poverty in Zimbabwe. The benefits can be demonstrated for vulnerable young people and orphans through the support of local efforts to provide suitable facilities and accommodation for these individuals suffering extreme poverty and hardship. The beneficiaries include impoverished orphaned individuals and their communities suffering poverty in Zimbabwe. The benefits of these relief of poverty development projects for orphans in Zimbabwe is significant and there is no harm flowing from this purpose. There is no private benefit flowing from this purpose. (2) the advancement of education; The direct benefits which flow from this purpose include enhancing educational attainment and improving social development in Zimbabwe. The benefits of this work are demonstrated through improved access to education, supply of educational resources and support for marginalised/vulnerable people. Follow up visits from Zimbabwe Orphan Care members and feedback from the various relevant institutions provide validation of the work. The benefits of this aid e.g. advancing educational attainment for orphaned young people outweigh any potential harm. There is no private benefit flowing from this purpose. (3) the advancement of religion; The direct benefits which flow from this purpose include helping to support local church groups to develop facilities and services for local communities. These benefits can be demonstrated through the development of new and improved church programmes and the renovation of a church facilities for vulnerable young people. The beneficiaries are primarily the Zimbabwe communities served by the local church groups that have been supported. The beneficiaries include people suffering poverty and hardship but also young people and those suffering illness, infirmity and disease. The benefits of these purposes to local communities outweigh any potential harm. There is no private benefit flowing from this purpose.

ZOC was established fro the relief of Orphans and destitute children. ZOC advances education and raises awareness for the benefit of the public in the area of education of the effects of AIDS HIV and associated illnesses. ZOC pays schools fees and provides school uniforms. ZOC provides programmes to local churches in Zimbabwe to maintain their
existing work and supports other orphanages in the Harare area. ZOC owns and operates Jabulani childrens home in Harare to house abandoned and destitute children offering them a home, food and education from birth to 18 years of age and beyond. ZOC works with Harare childrens services to offer short term accommodation for orphans and abandoned children prior to permanent placements in homes after death of parents or abandonment.
