Public benefits
The benefits that flow as a result of the purpose being carried out are the provision of heat and relief of financial pressure. The benefits are capable of being demonstrated by the delivery of coal to the beneficiaries. The intended beneficiaries of the purpose are those pensioners who are successful in being added to the list to receive the
coal. There is no harm or potential for harm as a result of the purpose being carried out. No one gains a private benefit as a result of the purpose being carried out. Old age pensioners or senior citizens in need who have a coal fire each receive two free bags of coal at Christmas.

Each year usually in early December our Committee meets and reviews the list of beneficiaries adding or deleting names as appropriate. We then liaise with the local coal merchant who arranges delivery of the coal in time for Christmas.
