To enhance and contribute to the cultural life of Belfast and the surrounding area The direct benefits that flow from this purpose include improved cultural experience and improved wellbeing of residents of Belfast and surrounding area. These benefits are demonstrated through feedback from audiences who attend our productions in various venues and

who comment favourably. It is also demonstrated by venue managers who invite us back regularly to stage productions. To present, promote, organize, manage & produce quality plays and events of cultural value The direct benefits that flow from this purpose include improved cultural experience and improved wellbeing of those who attend our plays and events that we have been producing since 1998. These benefits are demonstrated through feedback from audiences who attend our productions in various venues and who comment favourably. It is also demonstrated by venue managers who invite us back regularly to stage productions. Productions and events may lead to the offence caused to some audience members who may not like some of the content of our productions eg bad language. This has only happened on a few very rare occasions over the last 20 years. If there is any likelihood of people being offended we warn audiences in advance. Any such harm is outweighed by the benefits of the cultural enjoyment for the majority of our audiences. To encourage appreciation for, and participation in, performing arts activities Our company’s ethos is to create an informal, friendly environment, welcoming and supporting everybody's participation in an enjoyable and social atmosphere. The direct benefits that flow from this purpose include improved cultural experience and improved wellbeing for those who participate in our activities. These benefits are demonstrated through feedback from our members and others who participate in our activities. Those who participate regularly come back for more experience of our activities. To offer opportunities for all to become involved in performing arts activities through the cultural activities we engage in Our benefit to the community is apparent by the extensive involvement of people in our activities from a wide variety of community and cultural backgrounds. We enhance the quality of our community by providing a safe and enjoyable experience for people of all ages and backgrounds to gather and participate in cultural life. The direct benefits that flow from this purpose include improved cultural experience and improved wellbeing for those who become involved in our cultural activities. These benefits are demonstrated through feedback from audiences who attend our productions in various venues and who comment favourably. To promote and develop performing arts for the public in the area of benefit All the activities of South Bank Playhouse are aimed at providing a benefit to the community within Belfast and beyond. We not only deliver high quality drama we also deliver workshops to develop skills in lighting and sound. The direct benefits that flow from this purpose include improved cultural experience and improved wellbeing for the public of Northern Ireland. These benefits are demonstrated through feedback from audiences who attend our productions in various venues and who comment favourably. What your organisation does

South Bank Players is an amateur theatre company drawing its members from a wide range of backgrounds producing quality drama that enhances and contributes to the cultural life of Belfast and on tour across N Ireland since 1998. We produce drama from a variety of genres that is accessible to members of the public of all ages. This is in the form of

formal productions as well as rehearsed readings as well as providing space for members to write and produce original works. Additionally, we open our doors to other companies and charities to use our space to carry out their charitable activities and enhance the quality of their members’ lives.
