The advancement of education Féile delivers in excess of 40 educational talks, debates, seminars, workshops as part of our flagship International August Féile as well as a year round Youth Arts educational programme. We aim to provide information and learning on topical current, national and international affairs, as well as focusing on various

historic events that occurred within our own community and communities internationally. We invite speakers and academics and professionals from across the World into our community festival to share their learning and expertise, all FREE of charge to the local community. Féile also delivers various outreach and capacity building and training programmes for up to 500 volunteers each year. A lot of our events are delivered in local libraries and schools, increasing communities access to and awareness of the educational resources on their doorstep. The advancement of citizenship or community development A core aim of Féile an Phobail is Developing and inspiring civic values and encouraging voluntary and community activity and regenerating communities through physical, social and economic improvements. Our activities are delivered in a fully inclusive and accessible format, ensuring as many people as possible can access them regardless of their age, sexual orientation, religion, ethnicity etc. We recruit, train and reward in excess of 500 volunteers per annum. Féile encourages inward investment in the shape of increasing tourism and outside spend into the local area during our events and also in the investment and development of resources, facilities and infrastructure to support our events. As a lead arts and cultural organisation with over 27years experience, Féile supports a range of other community and voluntary organisations in applying, administering and vouching for funding.

• August Féile Féile August is our ‘Flagship festival’ and is Ireland’s Largest Community Festival annually attracting upwards of 70,000 participants. 10 days of 300+ events: exhibitions, dramas, literary events, a children’s programme, a disability development programme, street theatre, multicultural events, cross community events, international /

national musical events, concerts, comedy, and whole range of community arts and drama, 90% activities FREE. Youth Arts Programme Féile an Phobail has developed its provision of the arts and cultural activities for young people in the community and from other communities across Belfast, delivering a wealth of events for children and young people, particularly between the ages of 8 – 16 and 16 – 25 years, on a year round basis .Oscailt Disability Arts Programme All year round programme supporting and encouraging the active participation of people with a disability in all Féile events and support them in organising their own events, to showcase the work of artist’s with a disability and encourage integration/inclusion of artists, participants and audiences. Feile an Earragh presents a wide variety of arts and cultural events over a seven day period, such as international music acts, Irish traditional music sessions and dancing, master-classes, school workshops, concerts, tours and walks, debates and discussions, literary events, youth and sporting events and family based activities. The Community Engagement Project initiative is undertaken to increase Féile’s engagement with the local community, with an emphasis on under represented and hard to reach communities, and those outside of our traditional target audience, particularly ethnic minorities and the Protestant, Unionist and Loyalist community

Charitable purposes

The Company's objects are to promote the benefit of the inhabitants of West Belfast and its environs (hereinafter described as "the area of benefit") without distinction of age, sex, race, political, religious or other opinion, by associating the statutory authorities, voluntary organisations and inhabitants in a common effort to advance education and to provide facilities in the interests of social welfare for recreation or other leisure-time occupation, with the object of improving the conditions of life for the said inhabitants.
