Public benefits
PUBLIC BENEFIT The charities primary beneficiaries are the young people who will be resident in our supportive accommodation, thus eliminating the risk of homelessness upon leaving the criminal justice system. It also gives them an opportunity to acquire vocational skills and to engage in purposeful activity and interventions, therefore giving
them an alternative to crime and reduce the likelihood of reoffending and substance abuse. It will also enable the young people to progress into further training and employment, taking them out of the benefit system and become financial contributors to society . This will then have a direct benefit to the public as these young people will no longer be engaging in criminal activity which causes harm and financial cost to the public, but will tackle crime and reduce reoffending in the community. The families of the young people that are engaging with Beneath His Wings will also benefit as they will be offered support in order to build family relationships where possible and if beneficial. The purposes of our charity may lead to the following harm. Harm to our staff and volunteers if the young people become aggressive, especially if they have consumed alcohol or drugs. We have policies in place to minimize risk of harm and have a zero tolerance to drug and alcohol use on the premises. An additional purpose of Beneath His Wings is the advancement of religion. Aim is to advance the Christian faith by encouraging personal spiritual growth in the residents. This will benefit the young people in becoming part of local churches and in engaging in mission activity to help other people in need.
