COALISLAND GOLF CLUB EMPOWERS COMMUNITY VOLUNTEERS TO MAKE A DIFFERENCE IN LOCAL SOCIETY. WE OPERATE A COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT ETHOS AND THE PLAYING OF GOLF IS HOW WE ENGAGE THE PUBLIC AND WHERE PARTICIPANTS ENJOY A RANGE OF DIRECT BENEFITS THAT INCLUDE POSITIVE HEALTH AND WELLBEING, EDUCATIONAL DEVELOPMENT, GOOD RELATIONS AND SELF

ESTEEM/CONFIDENCE BUILDING. COALISLAND GOLF CLUB IS A VOLUNTARY ORGANISATION WHERE VOLUNTEERS TIME IS GIVEN FREELY FOR THE BENEFIT OF OTHERS AND WHERE OUR ACTIVITIES ENCOURAGE AND PROMOTE ENGAGEMENT AND PARTICIPATION IN AMATEUR SPORT FOR THE PUBLIC. WE BENEFIT THE COMMUNITY BY PROVIDING THE OPPORTUNITY TO INCREASE PARTICIPATION AND DEVELOP SKILLS AND CAPACITY CREATING PROGRESSION ROUTES TO THOSE WHO WISH TO PLAY COMPETITIVELY IN THE SPORT. COALISLAND GOLF CLUB CREATES THE LOCAL CONDITIONS THROUGH WHICH GOOD RELATIONS CAN FLOURISH. SPORT IS AN EFFECTIVE TOOL FOR ENGAGING PEOPLE IN POSITIVE ACTIVITY AND BUILDING RELATIONSHIPS. THE CGC IS ACCESSIBLE , OPEN AND FULLY INCLUSIVE WITH NO BARRIERS AND IN PARTICULAR AIMS TO INVOLVE YOUNG PEOPLE LIVING IN AREAS OF DEPRIVATION. CGC PROMOTES A CULTURE OF RESPECT AND TOLERANCE FOR DIVERSITY WHICH BRINGS PUBLIC BENEFIT TO THIS AREA SINCE THE HINTERLAND IS LARGELY OF ONE TRADITION. HOWEVER, THROUGHOUT ALL OUR PROGRAMMES PEOPLE OF DIFFERENT BELIEFS / SOCIAL BACKGROUNDS TAKE PART IN OUR STRUCTURED SPORTS BASED PROGRAMMES WHICH CREATE CROSS COMMUNITY CONTACT FOR ALL TRADITIONS. THE NATURE OF OUR WORK INCREASES COMMUNITY AND PUBLIC TOLERANCES AND HELPS DISMISS PRECONCEIVED PERCEPTIONS. COALISLAND GOLF CLUB PARTICIPANTS AND MEMBERS INCREASE THEIR PHYSICAL, MENTAL AND SOCIAL SKILLS AND IMPROVE THEIR CONFIDENCES, HEALTH AND WELL BEING AND OVERALL QUALITY OF LIFE. THIS BENEFITS THE WHOLE COMMUNITY. THE BENEFITS OF OUR WORK CAN BE DEMONSTRATED THROUGH INCREASED PARTICIPATION IN DIFFERENT GOLFING LEVELS AMONGST ALL AGE GROUPS. WE WILL BE ABLE TO MEASURE AND TRACK PARTICIPATION LEVELS THROUGH OUR PROGRAMMES VIA QUALITATIVE AND QUANTITATIVE MEASUREMENT. WILL MEASURE SKILLS DEVELOPMENT REGARDLESS OF ABILITY FOR USERS, PHYSICAL AND EMOTIONAL WELLBEING OF USERS, ATTITUDES OF PARTICIPANTS TOWARDS OTHER RELIGIONS AND ETHNICITIES.. WE WILL MEASURE LEVELS OF PARTICIPATION AND COMPETENCE AMONGT PARTICIPANTS , THE EXTENSIVE PARTNERSHIPS WITH LOCAL SCHOOLS, NEIGHBOURHOOD RENEWAL AREAS, ETHNIC MINORITY GROUPS, COMMUNITY GROUPS AND CHARITIES. WE WILL MONITORING AND EVALUATE THE IMPACTS OF GOLF THROUGH DISCUSSION, CONSULTATIONS, QUESTIONNAIRES AND ANNUAL REPORTS. THERE IS NO HARM FLOWING FROM THE PURPOSES AND THERE IS NO PRIVATE BENEFIT TO ANY INDIVIDUAL ASSOCIATED WITH THE CHARITY.

What your organisation does

COALISLAND GOLF CLUB IS A COMMUNITY BASED CLUB BASED AT BRACKAVILLE, COALISLAND, CO. TYRONE AND IS RUN BY A GROUP OF VOLUNTEERS WHO PROVIDE COMMUNITY OPPORTUNITIES THROUGH GOLF AS A SPORT. CGC HAS A MANAGEMENT COMMITTEE ALONG WITH A DEDICATED VOLUNTEER BASE WHOSE AIM TO BUILD CAPACITY OF OUR LOCAL COMMUNITIES AND TO IMPROVE THE SKILLS OF THE

PUBLIC. CGC PROVIDES STRUCTURED GOLF PROGRAMMES, ACTIVITIES AND LESSONS WHICH INCLUDE : WORKING WITH LOCAL SCHOOLS PROVIDING GOLF SESSIONS IRRESPECTIVE OF RELIGIOUS DENOMINATION OR SOCIAL CULTURAL BACKGROUNDS;CROSS COMMUNITY GOLF PROGRAMMES, ENCOURAGING LOCAL SUCCESSFUL YOUNG GOLFERS TO ACT AS MENTORS FOR SCHOOL STUDENTS. CGC PROVIDES INTEGRATED GOLF TOURNAMENTS ON NEUTRAL TERRITORY FOR ALL PARTICIPANTS IN COALISLAND GOLF CLUB PROGRAMMES. SOCIAL EVENTS AT THE COMMUNITY GOLF CLUB PROVIDE OPPORTUNITIES TO SOCIALISE AND LEARN NEW SKILLS. tHE GROUP ALSO FOCUS ON EDUCATIONAL AND HEALTH LIVING AND WELL BEING PARTICULARLY AMONG YOUNGER PEOPLE.

Charitable purposes

The Association is established to promote leisure, education, recreational activity and amateur sport specifically but not exclusively through Golf for the benefit of the public, for youth and the aged ; to promote the protection and preservation of health ; to promote the benefit of the inhabitants of the Coalisland area and it’s hinterland (hereinafter called the “area of benefit”) without distinction of age, gender, sexuality, nationality, ethnic identity, disability, political or religious opinion, by associating the statutory authorities, voluntary organisations and the inhabitants in a common effort of improving the conditions of life for the said inhabitants
