Purpose 1: The advancement of the Christian Religion by the proclamation and furtherance of the Gospel of God concerning His Son Jesus the Lord and the preaching and teaching of the Word of God under the auspices of the Assembly in accordance with the Statement of Truths of Ballykeel Pentecostal Church as stated in Appendix A of this
constitution. This purpose falls into the category of Advancement of Religion. The beneficiaries are people of all ages, gender and ethnicities. The expected outcome will be that such persons will be more aware of the gospel of Jesus Christ and the teachings of the Bible regarding Jesus Christ and how we should live our lives. Living their lives in this way will result in them being better and more productive members of society. This benefit can be measured firstly in terms of the number of people who are presented with the teachings of the Bible and secondly by those who respond to those teachings and seek to follow the Christian religion. It is not expected that anyone would be harmed by the promotion of the Christian religion, although it is accepted that some people may be offended by it. However, this offence can be reduced by a considerate presentation of the Christian religion and by allowing people the right to refuse to listen. The only benefit to Ballykeel Pentecostal Church from this purpose is that its membership might increase. Purpose 2: Such other charitable purposes as shall further the attainment of the above objects of the Assembly or any of them. This purpose allows the organisation to engage in any activity that is recognised as charitable by the Charities Acts (Northern Ireland) 2008 where such activities can be shown to attain the advancement of the Christian Religion in accordance with the Statement of faith of Ballykeel Pentecostal Church. Purpose 3: The furtherance of the work of Ballykeel Pentecostal Church, the promotion of the spiritual teaching and the maintenance of the statement of truths of Ballykeel Pentecostal Church, the promotion of religious observances which manifest and set forth the Statement of Truths of Ballykeel Pentecostal Church. This purpose falls into the category of Advancement of Religion. The beneficiaries are people of all ages, gender and ethnicity. The expected outcome will be that spiritual teaching and training, as well as opportunities to engage in Christian activities such as worship and prayer will be provided and maintained. Such activities and teaching must be consistent with the beliefs of Ballykeel Pentecostal Church as contained in their Statement of Truths. The benefit will be measured in terms of the opportunities to receive teaching and engage in Christian activities such as worship and prayer that are provided and also in terms of the number of persons who attend such events. It is not expected that such activities will provide any harm to anyone. Those who attend such activities will do so voluntarily. The only direct benefit to Ballykeel Pentecostal Church from this purpose will be the maintenance, teaching and promotion of its beliefs. With regard to all these purposes there is an indirect private benefit to the minister, currently Thomas Todd, who is paid by Ballykeel Pentecostal Church for his services. The church believes that having a paid spiritual leader who is able to give more time to the church work allows them to better attain their aims and purposes.
... [more] [less]What your organisation does
The primary activity of the church is the provision of and facilitating of Christian teaching and worship through regular church services whereby people can engage in worship and hear Christian teaching. Such services are provided on a regular basis for all age groups and genders at various times during the week. The church facilities are also
utilised by a number of other organisations that are engaged in Christian teaching and the spread of the Christian message. The church also seeks to spread the Christian message through giving free Christian materials to those outside of its membership and also through reaching out in practical ways to the local community. The church has a uniformed Christian organisation for children called Campaigners that meets weekly and caters for 70 - 90 children aged 3 - 18. Coffee mornings are held weekly for the local community within the church complex and there is a weekly youth fellowship meeting catering for young people aged 11 - 21. Trips are organised for both children and young people. The youth are encouraged and helped to gain volunteer hours for Millenium Volunteers and a number have already gained their two hundred hour awards for volunteer work. The church also runs a Duke of Edinburgh award scheme to enable the local young people to be able to attain these awards without a substantial financial commitment that they might not be able to meet. The church also runs occasional budgeting courses for local people,a yearly week of summer activities for children aged 3 - 18 and also a yearly community fun night for the local community involving inflatables, some educational animal; show , BBQ and treasure hunt. Young people are also involved in a yearly drama project that is often presented in Ballykeel Pentecostal Church and also in other places.
