Public benefits

1. To advance the Christian faith in accordance with our Statement of Beliefs. The direct benefit of this is that it provides an environment where people can find a common fellowship without having to wear the labels of their particular background. It provides a place where people can pray for each others’ physical and spiritual needs. This is

demonstrated in that the Fellowship’s meetings provide lively worship and clear Bible teaching as applied to life situations. Also, individual counselling and support are offered where they are appropriate and necessary. Alpha courses, Ladies’ Nights and monthly meetings for Prayer for Healing have brought in people from all sides of the community. Also there is appropriate, separate group worship for the youth in the congregation. Anyone who attends will benefit from the work of Hope fellowship. It is open to all who wish to attend any of the meetings. 2. To relieve sickness and financial hardship and to promote and preserve good health by the provision of funds, goods or services of any kind, including the provision of counselling and support. The direct benefit of this is that any who come to Hope Fellowship with these problems are met with acceptance and compassion and receive help according to their need. They are offered prayer ministry and counselling and support through their time of need if they require it. This is demonstrated by the provision of monthly Healing Ministry meetings which are open to the general public. Also, anyone is free to attend Sunday morning or evening meetings and will receive a personal welcome and the opportunity to speak to any of our members. The Fellowship has also supported a young man who spent a year in Manchester, working with young people in prison, running a youth club and leading worship in a new church plant. It is hoped that there will be more opportunities of this kind in the future. Any member of the public may benefit from the ministry available at Hope Fellowship. 3. To advance education. The direct benefit from this is that Hope Fellowship continually offers clear Bible teaching applied to life situations and specific teaching on Christian life on Sunday mornings and evenings and through separate courses conducted on weekdays to suit those who wish to participate. This is demonstrated by the provision of regular Alpha Courses both on Sunday evenings and week nights and courses from A L Gill Ministries which look at Christian topics in great detail. These are cross community events and are attended by members of Hope Fellowship and members of churches from across the community. A three month course on healing the hurts and traumas of the past was provided as was a two year course of training for spiritual leaders by the International School of Ministry. There is also an annual weekend retreat open to all who wish to attend. Each year a specific topic is addressed and those who attend have found great benefit from the teaching, friendship and fellowship this weekend provides. This was all in addition to the continued, consistent teaching on the Bible on Sunday mornings and evenings. Anyone who attends these meetings and courses will benefit from the increased knowledge they can receive. Is any harm or possibility of harm outweighed by the benefits of the purposes of Hope Fellowship? The purposes of hope Fellowship are not harmful. The Beneficiaries of Hope Fellowship The beneficiaries are those members of the general public who attend the meetings, courses and community outreaches provided by the Fellowship, those for whom prayer ministry are offered and provided and those who receive support and counselling in time of sickness or distress. Private Benefit. No private benefit flows from the purposes of Hope Fellowship Newry.
