Public benefits

The direct benefit is the provision of premises, buildings and equipment for the Schools producing the indirect benefit of the education of children with auditory or visual impairment and children with special needs caused or resulting otherwise than from auditory or visual impairment. These benefits are evidenced by the accounts of the

Organisation which record that it demolished the old school buildings at Jordanstown Road and replaced them with newly constructed and fully equipped school buildings in a project which was completed in December 2010. The indirect benefits are evidenced by actual ongoing education of children with auditory or visual impairment and children with special needs otherwise than resulting from auditory or visual impairment in these buildings. Currently there are 67 children attending the Schools. The beneficiaries of this purpose or object are children with auditory or visual impairment and children with special needs otherwise than resulting from auditory or visual impairment living in Northern Ireland or elsewhere who can access the facility referred to in Jordanstown and who are in need of special facilities to further their education. Prizes are awarded on an annual basis and some children benefit from a bursary given by the Organisation and in this way some children benefit directly. The Organisation is unaware of any detriment or harm resulting from this purpose or object. The Organisation is unaware of any private benefit resulting from this purpose or object.
