Public benefits

1.Relieve poverty,sickness and the aged. -The direct benefit of our cross community forum are to relieve poverty, sickness, the aged and to promote the benefits of the inhabitants of the Victoria Bridge area.By doing this we are running social events for all inhabitants, and creating a warm social environment which reduces social isolation which

leads to improved mental health in all age groups living in the community. For the younger members of the community, we are providing youth clubs, sports training and access to local sports coaches to improve the overall general well being and health of our younger residents to tackle obesity and confidence issues, in the interests of social welfare and recreation with the object of improving the conditions of life. Purpose 2. To provided facilities in the interest of public welfare- The direct benefit of our forum which flows from purpose 2 includes access to free training opportunities such as first aid, child protection, health and safety and community development which members of the community may not engage in otherwise in the provision of accredited and non accredited training which is free and is delivered in a local safe environment and therefore results in skills development in our community.Purpose 3. To provide facilities in the interest of public welfare.- The direct benefit which flows from the purpose is the development of a programme of activities based on identified needs of Victoria Bridge area. We have provided access to a local rented premises in order to run events, youth clubs, services and facilities for the local community.We have enabled people from our local community and wider community circle the opportunity to participate in a range of activities which enhance their quality of life, raises self esteem, encourages social activities and reduces social isolation. These benefits are demonstrated through records of activities, programmes and attendance record. We also have positive feedback from the general public.

What your organisation does

We are gaining access to local facilities in the area by providing training and educational development, we are currently voicing issues in the area and attending interagencies such as our local council, local schools and businesses. We are running events such as, Christmas Lights switch on, Easter events , fun days, discos and also have an active

Neighbourhood watch scheme. We provide services for all residents in the area and reach out to the disadvantaged residents in the area. We have carried out some gardening projects in the area and this allows the community to take ownership of planted areas which in turn provides self worth and confidence. We have enhanced community spirit and a wider understanding to the elderly in the area. We have held open workshops and devised a Village Plan document in conjunction with Strabane District council which highlights a number of projects that will be completed in our area.

Charitable purposes

The forum is established to relieve poverty,sickness and the aged and to promote the benefit of the inhabitants of the Victoria Bridge and district area of Co Tyrone and its Environs without distinction of age, gender, race, political, religious or other opinion, by associating the statutory authorities, voluntary organisations and inhabitants in a common effort to advance education, and to provide facilities in the interest of social welfare for recreation or other leisure time occupation, with the object of improving conditions of life for the said inhabitants.
