Public benefits

This charity uses funds received through regular and one off Donations, grants and Fundraising events to promote and bring outcomes that protect and preserve health, relieve poverty, advance education with vocational training that builds local communities. Our purpose to develop and nurture others meeting their basic needs by inviting, working

with and empowering women who then impact their families, children and men in Uganda, Kenya and African rural villages whom we have been working with since 2007. We aim to bring dignity and value and relieve dependency on outside institutions and charity, promote self-sufficiency to the people we work with building families, groups and community thus reduce suffering and promote a life satisfied by basic needs. Our main focus is reduction of poverty and its eventual eradication to the area of benefit. To date our work has included various regions in Uganda and Kenya and have received the following testimonials ……… When Bigheart moves in women in desperation learn new skills and put them to work and sustain their families, many who have learnt are now active in making a living……Pr Grace Nyanga, Lwanda Village, Jinja, Uganda Bigheart has helped in two critical areas in Uganda, Partnership in preaching the gospel and partnership in poverty alleviation through donations to help farming groups in Gulu helping people farm their gardens following 20 years of war, and the Bread Basket Project brought hope and enthusiasim among women as a source of income. When people are changed spiritually and empowered to change their daily physical lives life is lifted to another level…… Pr Asua Muhindo, Kampala Uganda. Northern Uganda being war torn for over 25 years and people lived in fear and became dependant on World Food Programme, but through Bigheart and its donations to help the people cultivate their own land they moved from dependence to self-reliance, sending away hunger then later poverty. Even a church has been open as a result of this project building people spiritually as the war had affected education, now the church can teach people how to read and write. Pr Lucy, Ogwang, Gulu Bigheart is about the whole man, touching lives in Africa through creativity and demonstration of Gods love…….. John Milliken, Carrickfergus Spiritual and practical blessings, teaching on home budgeting allowing women to plan properly they can comfortably live on their small income. This then graduated to business training and the construction of a bread oven to help many onto a business ladder within their communities, we then were encouraged and enabled through Bigheart to open a small bread shop to sell our produce. The Bread Basket project is geared to alleviate poverty among the widows, single mothers and the poorest of the poor women in Africa. We are seeing the good effect of the project under appointed leaders and the women are vigorously running with the vision even though we are on small scale it has started making a big difference in the homes of families and the village. The whole village are talking about our bread. Pr Alex Wugu CRC Lwandeti, Kenya We whole-heartedly recommend Bigheart Ministry to Africa and other nations, you will be blessed, fed, multiplied and fruitful through this organisation. Prs Michael & Liz Duff, Antrim Bigheart has shown faithfulness and integrity and care of people. Dr H Grahame-Smith, Ballymena We aim to continue working with those we have established strong relationships with and to establish a training centre that will also have a self-sustaining farm and facility to teach and train delegates. This charities resources are for the benefit of the public and communities as outlined, therefore no private individuals are supported, unless it may be incidental and in relation to our purposes.
