Purpose 1 Associating together the said inhabitants and the local authorities, voluntary and other organisations in the area of benefit in a common effort to relieve poverty and advance education and to provide facilities in the interests of welfare with the object of improving the conditions of life for the said inhabitants; The direct benefits
which flow from this purpose include improved health and nutrition of those who have suffered through food poverty, improvements in the social, emotional and physical well being of participants and increased capacity amongst those providing voluntary service. The benefits can be demonstrated through the direct provision of food to address, changes in food poverty as identified by approved public and voluntary sector partners and through referral to other support agencies that may help address other poverty related issues such as debt, low benefit uptake, housing benefit etc. The potential beneficiaries are the general public. Purpose 2 To advance the Christian Religion for the benefit of the public; The direct benefits include improved behaviour and an increased ability amongst society to live lives which can positively contribute to society. These benefits can be demonstrated through clear public access to religious publications, including sacred texts and Christian literature that can help provide moral, spiritual, emotional and relational support thereby helping beneficiaries to live a more stable, prosperous life. The potential beneficiaries are the general public. There is no private benefit or potential harm flowing from either of the objects of Newry Foodbank Ltd.

Newry Food Bank works in partnership with the Trussell Trust Food Bank and although we work independently we adhere to all their high values and principles. We work with marginalized and disadvantaged people, regardless of background or ethnicity to help restore dignity and to revive hope for those who are in need, within the wider Newry area. The
project aims to assist in combating food poverty through providing immediate emergency food to individuals/families facing crisis due to a change in their current income or due to low income or unemployment, benefits delays/changes, people with a disability ,the elderly, BME, travelling community. It will provide a minimum of three days non-perishable nutritionally balanced emergency food parcels. (Our food packages have been independently approved by a Nutritionist) We work in partnership with local care professionals in the Newry and Mourne area, GPs, social workers, health visitors, Prison Fellowship, youth groups, Action mental Health, women's Aid and more are being added monthly. The agencies hold our vouchers and when they identify a genuine need and issue the vouchers to clients who then have them redeemed at the Food Bank Distribution Centre. Workers are volunteers who have a heart for disadvantaged people.
