Public benefits

The direct benefits which flow from this purpose include raising awareness of age appropriate play based learning among parents and carers and the provision of early education for children under statutory school age in Fintona and surrounding area. The charities purposes will benefit the public by providing play based learning environments in which

children can learn and develop in each area of the early year’s curriculum and have opportunities to reach their full potential. These benefits are evidenced through feedback from parents, early year’s advisors and regular evaluation of the service by social services and the education and training inspectorate. The beneficiaries of the purpose are children under statutory school age living in Fintona and its surrounding area. This purpose does not lead to harm. Our setting takes reasonable steps in ensuring risk assessments are carried out fully and robust policies and procedures are in place. A private benefit flowing from this purpose is that gained by our charities staff through being paid a reasonable salary. These benefits are incidental and necessary to ensure the benefit is provided to our beneficiaries.

What your organisation does

Sunflower Early Years Group is a cross community playgroup offering sessional care to children aged 2 years and 10 months -5 years. We offer a play based curriculum resulting in enjoyment and social interaction to learn and develop. We encourage friendship respect and understanding. We work closely with local schools, Surestart and Library. Recent

inspection with regard to Minimum Standards has enabled change within the setting. Children take part in the Media Initiative Programme. We support the values and principles of The Early Years Organisation For Young Children.
