Advancement of the Christian faith Contributes to the mental and emotional health and wellbeing of the followers along with the moral improvement in society. Encourages people to be good citizens. The benefit is demonstrated through the observation of improved behavior through the feedback of public testimony and the ongoing monitoring of

pastoral care. Beneficiaries are potentially anyone who has a desire to discover more about or become a follower of the tenants of the Christian faith. Relief of Poverty Through the provision of grants, clothing &/or food. Immediate, emergency free food support for short term needs & providing household necessities for longer term support to individuals & families. Individuals needs are met in the short term and are encouraged to generate a sustainable income and to become self-sufficient. The benefit is demonstrated through a voucher system and feedback from volunteers. The beneficiaries are those in short term crisis / poverty. Health and Well-being Creates mental, emotional, social and physical welfare and well-being for those who for a variety of reasons experience the despair and distress that comes from isolation and loneliness and improves their general well-being and condition of life. The benefit is demonstrated through ongoing feedback, award nominations and the creating of long term permanent volunteer posts for folk who have problems in the areas mentioned above. Life skills in the Community To enhance knowledge & understanding in young people, unemployed, disabled &/or elderly through receiving a practical education. To support skill and business development. Adds value and self-esteem to individuals, helping them identify abilities and skill. The benefit is demonstrated through people getting back into education, training and work, starting their own businesses and creating employment The beneficiaries are anyone who is socially and economically disadvantaged within the community of Moira and further afield. No obvious harm. Human Rights – Social Inclusion This purpose helps diffuse discrimination, flash points, racial tensions, faith and race hate crimes and helps build acceptance and mutual understanding between different racial groups. The benefit is demonstrated through feedback discussion groups with the volunteers who are working together on various social projects in the community. No obvious harm. The beneficiaries are any individual or group who feels socially excluded because of ethnicity, religion or social standing. Conciliation and Mediation Helps couples stay together, creates stronger relationship and helps build stable family units and helps avoid the stress of abusive home situations, divorce and family breakdown. The benefit is demonstrated through testimonials from couples who have walked through the process of conciliation and mediation. No obvious harm. The beneficiaries are married couples where the relationship between a husband and wife is in need of strengthening, or repair. Where there has been a breakdown in communication or where couples would seek to get back together after temporary separation. Community Development GAP COMMUNITY CENTRE is based in the centre of Moira Village on the main street - in and amongst many shops. Improved community life will be encouraged through recreation, Drop-In, clubs, classes, & workshops. The recreation facilities will be maintained so that they can be used by the local community. Counselling & support will be provided. The benefit is demonstrated through interviews with the young people, mentoring programs, feedback from team leaders in the various activities in which young people participate. What your organisation does

1. Provides a Community Centre in Moira serving the whole community and surrounding areas as far as Belfast, Dungannon and Dromore. 2. Operates an independant foodbank under the auspices of GAP Ministries. Also, a Charity shop which stocks clothing, household items, second-hand books & some small items of furniture. 3. Fosters community

well-being, giving assistance to socially, physically & mentally disadvantaged people. 4. Provides classes on life skills. 5. Organises a programme of business improvement seminars to local businesses. 6. Seeks to harness an atmosphere where volunteers can be used purposefully as in a work-like situation. 7. Promotes foodbank and being "a listening ear" through visitation & leaflet distribution and actively cross-cultural in location & outlook. 8. Gives best available advice with prudence & caution on all kinds of subjects relating to the local community. Leaflets & booklets are available. Volunteers have many years experience in a wide variety of employments. Where necessary we will signpost enquirers to other professional agencies. 9. Operates a Drop-In where people can talk and spend time away from there normal surroundings.

Charitable purposes

PURPOSES a) THE ADVANCEMENT OF THE CHRISTIAN FAITH The advancement of the Christian Faith in the world for the benefit of the public, through pastoral care, the holding of meetings, lectures, public celebrations of religious festivals, the production and distribution of literature and other media on the basis of the Christian faith, to enlighten others about the Christian faith, to demonstrate Christian values which include truth, justice, joy, peace and equality in society. b) RELIEF OF POVERTY The prevention or relief of poverty or financial hardship by providing or assisting in the provision of education and training, through the provision of food-banks, goods and services and all the necessary support designed to enable individuals, where possible, to generate a sustainable income and be self-sufficient. Giving advice on the management of money, household budgets and the provision of an affordable healthy diet. c) HEALTH AND WELL BEING The relief of physical and mental sickness of persons in need, by reason of addiction to substances or other forms of addiction, in particular by the provision of counselling and supporting healthcare projects. d) LIFE SKILLS IN THE COMMUNITY To develop the capacity and skills of socially and economically disadvantaged people at all ages in the community, in such a way that they are better able to identify their need and help them to participate more fully in society through seminars, workshops and distance learning. To facilitate after school tutoring clubs. e) HUMAN RIGHTS - SOCIAL INCLUSION To promote peace and reconciliation and assist in bridge building between all communities. Promoting knowledge and mutual understanding between different religious and racial groups and working towards the elimination of discrimination. f) CONCILIATION AND MEDIATION To provide for the benefit of the public, assistance through conciliation for couples whose relationships appear to be breaking down and where such relationships have already broken down, to advise and help in the settlement of differences or potential differences. g) COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT To advance in life and help for young people through the provision of recreational and leisure time facilities, in the interest of social welfare, designed to improve their conditions of life. Providing support and activities at home and further afield which develop their skills, capacities and capabilities to enable them to participate in society as mature and responsible individuals. To provide a community centre serving Moira and the surrounding districts of approximately 8000 people. h) OTHER PURPOSES - RECREATION To provide or assist in the provision of facilities in the interests of social welfare for recreation or other leisure time occupation of individuals who have need of such facilities by reason of their youth, age, infirmity or disability, financial hardship or social circumstances with the object of improving their conditions of life. (The Trustees must use the Trust income and may use the capital of the Trust, in promoting the Purposes).
