Public benefits

The public benefits that flow from the purpose are that the club has parents as volunteers and always charges the minimum amount of money for any activities that the club offers. Using fundraising and grants, this helps to keep the costs to a minimum, this is a saving for parents and helps to relieve poverty and sickness as the children have

activities through the year, thus helping them to become occupied and becoming isolated, which can happen in very rural areas. This is the only club of its kind in the Plumbridge, Gortin and Newtownstewart area that is open to all young children, from all communities. The club also runs classes for the children, such as football skills, computer classes, cookery classes, archery and wall climbing, hairdressing and beauty as well as transfer classes and alcohol and drug awareness, so these classes keeps the children interested and helps them to learn a new skill. The beneficiaries are the young people who attend the club. The potential for harm i.e. a young person getting injured during a sports activity is low as the club uses qualified coaches for all activities and the policies that the club have in place address such risks, i.e. first aid for the coaches. Accidents are minimal and extremely rare and the benefits of our service that our club provides outweighs any risks. Our club is unique in that it is not a youth club where parents can drop off their children, but the parents are encouraged to attend day trips with their children at a minimal cost, thus helping to relieve poverty and sickness. A child protection policy is in place that we adhere to at all times and ensure that there is the correct ratio of parents to children at all times. The intended beneficiaries are the young children from all communities in the rural areas of Plumbridge, Gortin and Newtownstewart. . There is no private benefit flowing from the purpose of our organisation. The public benefits are evidenced through the increasing numbers of young people joining the club and also the feedback received from parents and the children The club also provide classes for the parent’s i.e. spinning, arts and crafts, dancing classes, good relations classes and can meet new friends thus helping them from becoming isolated also. The club brings families together from all communities. Every parent is POCVA checked by Youth Action NI and we ensure that for every trip that we go on, that we have a parent who is a nurse in their profession on board as well as a first aid kit available. By the activities provided by the club, the children have a full and active life and this in turn improves the standard of life for all the inhabitants within this rural area. The intended beneficiaries are the children who attend the club and also the parents of the children who attend the club. There is no private benefit flowing from the purpose of our organisation. The benefits are evidences through the increasing number of families joining the club and also the feedback received from the parents. The is no harm or potential for harm as a result of the purpose being carried out.
