Public benefits

Advancement of Education Benefits that flow from this are greater self-awareness and sense of personal empowerment, increased awareness of the consequences of risk-taking behaviour, improved health and a clearer understanding of how to affect and facilitate change in individuals and groups. The benefits extend to young people, their youth

leaders, mentors and educators. Through individual mentoring, group tuition and volunteering opportunities we deliver Personal, Social and Faith development education which: • Highlights the importance of positive self-esteem. • Educates young people and those who influence their learning and development, how to cultivate and maintain healthy relationships. • Supports them in identifying and enhancing their personal skills, abilities and qualities, ultimately assisting them to discern and action their vocation. • Increases their understanding of the Nature & Character of God. • Empowers them to take ownership of their lives and life-long learning. Benefits are assessed through verbal, written and electronic feedback from direct beneficiaries and occasionally through indirect beneficiaries (parents, teachers, ministers etc.) There are paid employees who are in receipt of a living wage in order to carry out the purposes of the charity. Advancement of Health Benefits of which are improved mental, emotional and physical well-being of those who attend programmes. Reduction of anxiety and confusion about forming appropriate boundaries in relationships, a better understanding of the dangers of high-risk behaviour involving alcohol, drugs and early or reckless sexual activity. Benefits extend directly to: • Programme participants as increased knowledge and understanding facilitates a modification of behaviour in young adults. • In the case of leaders, information and skills acquisition provides a greater confidence in and ability to influence the attitudes and behaviour of young people. • Medical professionals should have less education and treatment to administer as a result of less young people indulging in high risk behaviour. • Families who will suffer less trauma from the consequences of addiction and high risk behaviour from their members. Benefits are assessed through verbal, written and electronic feedback from direct beneficiaries and occasionally through indirect beneficiaries (parents, teachers, ministers etc.) There are paid employees who are in receipt of a living wage in order to carry out the purposes of the charity. Advancement of Religion We promote the practice, principles and beauty of having a personal relationship with God, the benefit of which is better mental, emotional and physical well-being. It also fosters a sense of community and belonging among participants, positively impacting their sense of self-worth and purpose both in self-actualization and contributing as good citizens to a more holistic society. We deliver creative Retreat Programmes, Teaching Seminars, Conferences and other initiatives to young people, their leaders, mentors and educators in schools, churches, community and prayer groups throughout Ireland, the UK and occasionally further afield. We encourage people to engage in private and public worship, prayer and study and to allow their knowledge and experience to inform their attitudes and behaviour towards others. e.g. Love your neighbour as you love yourself. Benefits are assessed through verbal, written and electronic feedback from direct participants and occasionally through indirect beneficiaries (parents, teachers, etc.) People are free to make their own choice to alter their beliefs, values and behaviour and / or to commit their lives to Christ / the practice of the Christian faith at the end of any programme. There are paid employees who are in receipt of a living wage in order to carry out the purposes of the charity. There is no private benefit or harm flowing as a result of the purposes being carried out.
