Our organisation is primarily a marching flute band who attend parades throughout Northern Ireland and who host their own annual parade in April each year in Kilkeel. The organisation gives free tuition on the flute and drum. We also organise programmes throughout the year such as educational courses on alcohol and drug awareness, marshalling,
child protection etc. The organisation subscribes to a range of values, which underpins its worth and recognises: (i) the importance of preserving and developing the flute and drum tradition in an ever modern world; (ii) everybody’s right to understand, celebrate and have confidence in their own culture; (iii) the value of arts and culture as a means of improving educational standards; (iv) the importance of offering equality of excess, opportunity and esteem to everyone irrespective of gender, religion or political affiliation; (v) the potential for cultural development to improve cross community and cross cultural contact and understanding; (vi) an intention to actively exploit opportunities to work in partnership with other organisations to help the organisation achieve its aims and objectives; (vii) the need to help others through charity work.
