Public benefits

To promote the benefit of the inhabitants of Turf Lodge and surrounding areas ("the area of benefit"), without distinction of sex, race, political, religious or other opinions by:- Purpose (i) the advancement of education by, in particular for the long-term unemployment, the provision of training in occupational skills and work experience for

periods in each case not exceeding (except in exceptional circumstances) 2 years; and Purpose (ii) the provisions of facilities in the interests of social welfare for recreation and leisure time occupation with the object of improving the conditions of life of the said inhabitants. Public Benefit Statement; The trustees believe that our purposes satisfy both elements of the public benefit requirement. Purpose one The direct benefits which flow from this purpose include the promotion and facilitating of training and skills in health & well-being, recreational activities and facility up-keep. The benefits are demonstrated through positive feedback from the users of our schemes and services. We believe there are no identifiable harmful effects of this purpose. The beneficiaries of this purpose are un-employed people and their family members living in the greater Turf Lodge area. No private benefit to trustees occurs from this purpose. Purpose two The direct benefits which flow from this purpose include the provision and up-keep of dedicated sports and recreational facilities which creates the opportunity for and increases levels of participation in leisure time activity amongst the inhabitants of Turf Lodge and surrounding areas. The benefits of this purpose are demonstrated by the large number of individual & group users who regularly use the facilities. Sporting bodies & clubs promote the benefits and use of the facilities by organising their games and recreation activities which are for the inhabitants of Turf Lodge. We believe there are no identifiable harmful effects of this purpose. The beneficiaries of this purpose are the inhabitants living in the greater Turf Lodge area. A private benefit gained by any trustees may occur from the use of the facilities in the same way as other beneficiaries, this benefit in incidental.

Gort na Mona Sports Association exists to support the inhabitants of the greater Turf Lodge area in the advancement of social welfare & recreational activities. We provide & manage sports grounds, recreation facilities that are used for sports, health & well-being & training purposes. We encourage social development amongst the un-employed by

providing the opportunity to gain skills & work experience.

Charitable purposes

The Charity's objects ("the Objects") are: (a) To promote the benefit of the inhabitants of Turf Lodge and surrounding areas ("the area of benefit"), without distinction of sex, race, political, religious or other opinions by:- (i) the advancement of education by, in particular for the long-term unemployment, the provision of training in occupational skills and work experience for periods in each case not exceeding (except in exceptional circumstances) 2 years; and (ii) the provisions of facilities in the interests of social welfare for recreation and leisure time occupation with the object of improving the conditions of life of the said inhabitants. (b) To promote such other charitable purposes as may from time to time be determined.
