The Beneficiaries of the purpose are 2 years 9 months - 4 years old children in the local community and surrounding areas including Strathfoyle, Maydown and Eglinton. The public benefit that flows from the purpose is the provision of pre-school and pre pre-school education to children under statutory school age. This Benefit is evidenced through

inspections from Social Services in Foyle Trust Area, Early Years Specialist/ Advisor, and parental feedback . Children attending Tiny Tots Community Playgroup benefit in Pre-School by covering 6 areas of Learning namely Personal, Social & Emotional Development, Physical Development, Early Maths, The World around Us, Language Development &The Arts. Children attending Pre Pre-School benefit by covering 3 Areas of Learning Personal, Social & Emotional, Language Development, Physical Development. Children benefit by developing social skills, self confidence, creativity, problem solving skills & respect for those that are different. We are an inclusive organisation where children and families are welcome irrespective of race, culture, religion & colour. The health, safety and welfare of the children is paramount within the setting and all activities are fully supervised by trained vetted staff with minimal risk. Direct Beneficiaries are Children, Parents, Carers, Staff, Directors and local community.

What your organisation does

Advancing the education and development of children (3-4yrs) by co-operating with the appropriate statutory, community / voluntary / independent organizations. Providing a safe and satisfying programme of play, which will undoubtedly advance the educational, personal and social development of young children attending the group. Supporting

parents/carers with young children, including children with special needs. Increasing parental recognition of the needs of young children and the value of early years education. Encouraging parents and carers to participate in the playgroups play programme, daily schedule (Parent Rota) fundraising activities and Management Committee. Offer a variety of training, including parenting and communication skills, which will equip parents/carers with the skills and confidence to make a fuller and more positive contribution to their children’s development. Facilitating the active participation of marginalized families (e.g those which children are currently referred to Western Health & Social Services Board Playgroups) in the design and delivery of early years programmes.

Charitable purposes

to enhance the development and education of children under statutory school age in areas of social and economic deprivation and in particular the Strathfoyle, Maydown, and Eglinton areas of Derry and their environs (hereinafter called the ‘area of benefit’) by encouraging parents/guardians to understand and provide for the needs of their children by: (a) Offering appropriate play facilities, with the right of parents/carers to take responsibility for and to become involved in the activities of the group, ensuring that the group offers opportunities for all children, regardless of religion, culture, race or means; (b) Encouraging the study of the needs of such children and their families and promoting public interest in and recognition of such needs of such children and their families in the local areas. (c) Instigating and adhering to and furthering the aims of NIPPA.
