Public benefits

Purpose 1: The direct benefits from this purpose is to improve the lives of Transgender individuals & their families. This is done by helping individuals with regards to their personal lives by accompanying & assisting with getting the correct information regarding Social Security Benefits, advocacy i.e. accompanying them to appointments with their

GP, the Gender Identity Clinic & accompanying them to the PSNI where individuals have been a victim of hate crime or any crime when it relates to their gender identity. We are only just establishing ourselves we can only demonstrate that these benefits will be proved via feedback from our clients, surveys, general monitoring as well as research previously done by other organisations. This will apply to all our purposes. The beneficiaries of these purposes will be people living in Northern Ireland who identify as Transgender. A private benefit to Trustees and volunteers may arise from training in governance, finances and certified health education etc. The training which our Trustees & volunteers will attain are transferable core skills & can be taken into other workplace environments, however these benefits are incidental but necessary. Purpose 2: The benefits which flow from this purpose are the improvement of mental & physical health self confidence, self esteem & to allow Transgender individuals & their families to become aware that they are not alone or the only ones within society to be Transgender or to be diagnosed with Gender Dysphoria; Helping the Trans individual & their family to understand more about their diagnosis. Through our help in educating the individual & their families we aim to help more families remain together & unbroken. Purpose 3: This benefits by encouraging, taking ownership of ones life, learning to plan events & activities around their own lives & the community that they are a part of. Due to the support group element individuals attain new friendships & learn about themselves & develop skills from facilitated events. Purpose 4: Through our support group & exterior work “conferences, public events like LGBT Pride & delivering education to voluntary & statutory bodies” we aim to educate individuals about the rights & responsibilities of Transgender individuals & wider society. Purpose 5: The benefit of this purpose is the Transgender individual & indirectly the wider community via support groups & education & training. We deliver information sessions on keeping safe within the community, hate crime “what hate crime is and how to report it” & by liaising with the PSNI & health care professionals. We also source training such as Safetalk, MHFA & Assist for anyone who wishes to adhere to this training. Purpose 6: The benefit are families & friends, by extension employers, schools & the wider community. This will be delivered at conferences, peer support sessions, one to ones with family members and friends. Purpose 7: The beneficiaries of this purpose are the Transgender community & wider general public. We do this by partaking in human rights training also by being members of the Trans Forum of NI which meets quarterly where issues relating to Transgender rights, equality & diversity are discussed, by OFMDFM, PSNI, Gender Identity Clinic etc. For more information please visit www.transgenderni.com Purpose 8: The beneficiaries of this purpose is everyone & will be done by holding conferences & partaking in events such as LGBT Pride, radio & newspaper interviews & by offering & delivering training All our purposes & benefits fit into The advancement of human rights, conflict resolution, reconciliation & the promotion of religious, racial harmony & equality & diversity. Charitable purposes

1) To assist Transgender individuals regardless of gender identity or stage in transition in personal and social development. 2) To encourage growth in self esteem and general mental health and wellbeing and to promote self confidence and help individuals to learn from shared experiences. 3) To help the Transgender community participate in our support group, to express views and play an active part in the planning and management of their own activities. 4) To assist Transgender individuals and or community to become aware of their/it's rights and responsibilities as active members of society. 5) To promote the health and welfare and safety of the Transgender community at all times. 6) To support the families and friends of Transgender individuals in understanding the needs of the Transgender person. 7) To promote the advancement of human rights, equality and diversity within the Transgender community and the wider general public. 8) To raise awareness within the wider general public of issues concerning Transgender individuals and to promote peace and harmony for all.
