Public benefits
The purpose of Shine Ur Light is to provide relief through practical and emotional support to children, young people and their families living with a life limiting illness in Northern Ireland. The direct benefits that flow from this purpose are the provision of resources for both practical and emotional activities. This support will help improve
the quality of life experiences for families living with a child or young person with life limiting illness. This will include improved health outcomes - improved mental, physical and emotional wellbeing - reduced levels of stress and anxiety - reduced levels of isolation - individuals and families are better able to cope with their loved ones illness and opportunities to come together and share their fears and anxieties and to gain support from others facing similar difficulties. These benefits will be evidenced through both qualitative and quantitative measures to collect relevant data on Shine Ur Life activities. Reporting will include financial audits, participation list, photos and feedback forms to evidence the benefits in order to monitor and evaluate the success of the organisations activities. There is no private benefit that flows from the purpose of Shine Ur Light, the charities beneficiaries are the general public of Northern Ireland who are living with a child or young person with a life limited illness.
