Public benefits

The Overseers (Trustees/Directors) of the Charity believe that both elements of the public benefit requirement are met; Purpose 1 - The advancement of the Christian religion The ‘Christian religion’ is interpreted to mean those fundamental truths of Christianity as revealed in the Holy Scripture. The direct public benefits which flow from

the purpose include: ? The provision of a place of worship, allowing individuals to come and experience the Christian faith and have a place where they can rest and find relief from external pressures to promote an overall healthier quality of living; ? The education of the public on the Christian faith through regular discussions, study groups, and various speaking engagements, particularly at the Charity's place of meeting; ? Public access to Christian literature to learn about and understand the Christian religion, through a resource/info centre at the Charity's place of meeting; ? The provision of discipleship classes, enabling individuals to apply the fundamental truths of the Christian faith to their particular circumstances; ? The promotion of discipleship and the Christian faith amongst the youth. The benefits cannot be physically defined by measurement but can be demonstrated through a greater understanding of the Christian faith, a greater sense of purpose and hope in life, improved behaviour and contribution to the mental health and wellbeing of those we engage with. Purpose 2 – The prevention or relief of poverty The direct public benefits which flow from the purpose include: ? The organisation of volunteer teams to work with various charities and schools enabling the practical outworking of the Christian religion, for example working with Open Door ministries to assist with various community outreach programs; ? Practical assistance of the Food Bank on any of their food drives; ? Providing for persons in the need through the payment of services, donation of items, and provision of facilities or direct financial help. The benefits can be physically defined by measurement and demonstrated through the wellbeing of those we engage with and any feedback received from them. No harm flows from the purposes of the charity. The charity’s beneficiaries are the general public and the religious activities we engage in are open to any member of the public.
