Public benefits

Public Benefit Statement: The direct benefits which flow from our purpose includes relieving poverty, supporting the sick and aged for the benefit of people living in Ballynahinch, Drumaness, Spa and surrounding areas. Ballynahinch Citizens Tuesday Club provides a meeting place for those who live on their own to get together with others to chat

and enjoy the social interaction which flows from the meetings. The participants benefit from a variety of activities such as dance, crafts and guest speakers and gain knowledge and new skills from these. These benefits are demonstrated through feedback from participants and beneficiaries, increased membership and also by the level of uptake of our activities. The purposes of our charity will not lead to any harm. The charity’s beneficiaries are older people living in Ballynahinch, Drumaness, Spa and surrounding areas. A private benefit to trustees may arise from our programme of ongoing training. Through this training trustees may gain skills and experience which are transferable to other settings. These benefits are incidental and necessary to ensure the benefit is provided to our beneficiaries.

What your organisation does

Ballynahinch Citizens Tuesday Club operates on Tuesday afternoons throughout the year providing a programme of activities for older people aged over 50 years of age. Transport is provided for those who live in isolated areas and are not able to leave their house often. The club provides older people with a place to meet. We currently have approx

50 members attending our group. Our yearly programme includes therapeutic craft activities that compliment the dance and physical activity sessions that are ongoing through out the year. We continually work to enhance the overall health and well being of members, both new and old and thus improving the quality of life for older people in the Ballynahinch and surrounding areas such as Drumaness and Spa.
