Public benefits

Public Benefit Your public benefits are: The trustees believe that this purpose satisfies the key elements of the public benefit requirement. The direct benefits which flows from this purpose are: • Artists have access to accessible and affordable studio and exhibition space. • Artists, cultural practitioners and the wider public will develop,

encounter and participate in contemporary art. • With its capacity to comment, provoke and reflect on the human condition, social life and environment; art and creativity will deepen and enrich the understanding of our existence. These benefits are evidenced through effects such as: • The participation by artists in Paragon Studio’s workshop space and exhibitions and their contributions to its projects. • The attendance and participation by cultural practitioners and the wider public at Paragon Studio’s projects, shows and exhibitions in Belfast and rural locations. The beneficiaries for this purpose are the artists and the general public in Northern Ireland and particularly in Belfast - and with a strong focus on including culturally under-resourced communities. The Trustees believe that there is no harm flowing from this purpose and that, while a private benefit may arise for the artists and cultural practitioners who use the available studio space or exhibition opportunities to develop and show new work, this benefit is incidental and necessary to achieve the public benefit.
