Public benefits

The direct benefits which flow from are purpose - are the improved living standards, health and well being of the residents of the Bloomfield estate. We keep the community better informed about services they are entitled to with increased access to information on keeping healthy and provide greater opportunities to engage in activities that bring

local residents together improving their mental, physical, emotional and social well being. These benefits can be demonstrated by – the lobbying of statutory authorities, voluntary organisations, and the inhabitants in the common effort to advance education, and to provide facilities in the interests of social welfare for recreation and other leisure activities with the object of improving the conditions of life for the said inhabitants. These can be demonstrated through feedback from local residents gathered from feedback forms, and by the success of the group in identifying and meeting the needs of residents. We can also identify through the attendees of training courses and information sessions provided by the association. The beneficiaries of this purpose are initially our residents of the local area of Bloomfield Estate in Bangor and those associated with the area. Another direct benefit which flow from this purpose - are social, physical and economic improvements within the community vacillated by the existence of the learning and resource centre in which can access by the whole community in a suitable and safe environment. These benefits can be demonstrated by – records of the regular events and activities which take place within the learning and resource centre and the number of local residents using the facility in a social and leisure time capacity. The beneficiaries of this purpose are initially our residents of the local area of Bloomfield Estate in Bangor and those associated with the area. A further direct benefit which flow from our purpose is developing accommodation where housing need has been identified and promoting good neighbours based on equality and respect. Residents are encouraged to involve themselves in the decision making process of the association and join the management structures through their annual general meeting. The association plays an active role on strategic groups related to housing statutory provision and representing tenants panels and housing appeals. These benefits can be demonstrated by the feedback received through tenant satisfactory surveys and from tenants and community workers involved with the association’s board. The success rates of housing appeals through the relevant processes and the increased better quality of housing stock available in the area. The beneficiaries of this purpose are initially our residents of the local area of Bloomfield Estate in Bangor and those associated with the area. There is no harm flowing from any of their purposes and the intended beneficiaries are the residents of the Bloomfield Estate in Bangor and surrounds. A private benefit may be in the form of Trustees often engaging in the activities available. The activities are delivered for those most in need and as such is incidental.

BLOOMFIELD COMMUNITY ASSOCIATION PROVIDE A RANGE OF SERVICES TO THE LOCAL COMMUNITY. - WE PROVIDE HEALTH FAIRS FOR THE LOCAL COMMUNITY AND PROVIDE ADVICE AND INFORMATION TO THE LOCAL COMMUNITY ON SERVICES AND RESOURCES. - WE PROVIDE A FUN DAYS FOR LOCAL COMMUNITY IN THE AREA. WE PROVIDE YOUTH CLUB PROVISION FOR OUR YOUNG PEOPLE TROUGH DICE

PROGRAMME - WE PROVIDE BUS TRIPS FOR LOCAL PEOPLE TO VARIOUS LOCATIONS THROUGHOUT NORTHERN IRELAND FOR THOSE WITHIN THE COMMUNITY WHO HAVE LITTLE OPPORTUNITY TO VISIT BY THEMSELVES. - WE TAKE PART IN GOOD PRACTICE VISITS TO OTHER COMMUNITIES TO LEARN FROM PROJECTS THAT THEY ARE UNDERTAKING. - WE CIRCULATE COMMUNITY NEWSLETTERS TO THE LOCAL RESIDENTS TO KEEP THEM UP TO DATE WHAT HAS HAPPENED AND UPCOMING EVENTS. WE ATTEND VARIOUS MEETINGS WITH VARIOUS STATUTORY AGENCIES THROUGH THE NORTH DOWN DISTRICT INTER AGENCY TO RAISE ISSUES OF CONCERN AS WELL AS HAVE REGULAR CONTACT WITH THE STATUTORY AGENCIES INCLUDING PSNI.

Charitable purposes

Bloomfield Community Association is established to advance education, promote and advance community development, relieve poverty, hardship, sickness and the aged and to promote the benefit and wellbeing of the community resident in the Bloomfield area and its environs of Bangor , Co Down without distinction of age, gender, disability, sexual orientation, nationality ethnic identity, political or religious opinion, by associating the statutory authorities, community and voluntary organisations and the inhabitants in a common effort to advance education and to provide facilities in the interests of social welfare for recreation or other leisure time occupation, with the object of fostering a community spirit and improving the conditions of life for the said inhabitants and in particular. a) to establish or secure the establishment of a community centre (hereinafter called 'the centre') and to maintain or manage or co-operate with any statutory authority in the maintenance and management of such a centre for activities promoted by the association in furtherance of the above objects; b) to support community development and wellbeing activities and to work with partners to support community cohesion, the promotion of adequate housing conditions and the development of a sustainable community. c) to promote community safety through the support and development of the appropriate programmes and projects which aim to address crime and anti-social behaviour. d) to promote or assist in promoting community capacity building programmes and projects for the benefit of the inhabitants within the area of benefit who have need of such assistance as a result of their youth, age, disability or infirmity, or social and economic circumstances, in an effort to increase the abilities, skills and self confidence of such inhabitants in the area of benefit; e) to relieve poverty by the promotion, facilitation and organisation of adequate, accessible and quality programmes of vocational and educational training, information and support in an effort yo acquire skills and retraining to assist beneficiaries in obtaining employment. f) to advance any other exclusively charitable purpose as the committee, may from time to time, decide in accordance with the law of charity.
