Public benefits

As a completely volunteer-led charity, the direct benefits of iCare can be summarised but not limited to, the following: •Providing items, grants and services (all of which are fundraised for by a team of volunteers) to individuals or groups through a dedicated iCare Wish initiative which alleviates financial pressures. •Making a real

difference (personal or practical) to the lives of the individuals/groups who receive the items/grants or services. •Alleviating social isolation and or exclusion by encouraging employees and any member of the general public to participate in fundraising activities and to nominate individuals/groups to receive an iCare Wish. •Promoting a sense of community, teamwork and equality by delivering iCare Wishes across the Country, encouraging participation and calling for volunteers from all walks of life. •Mentoring all volunteers that offer their services, providing them with practical skills and experience in event organisation, fundraising and team building. •Using the power of our dedicated charity iCare to raise the Value of Social Care for those that receive and deliver care by campaigning, by empowering our own employees to get involved and by celebrating the successes of those involved in the industry.

What your organisation does

The charity committee works hard to plan, organise and implement fundraising activities which will enable us to carry the work of the charity from year to year. We raise money through fundraising to benefit people in the communities in which we serve. our committee works as volunteers in order to make this happen. To date we have run Santa's

Gatelodge since 2010 as well as other community fun days. We encourage our team of 1,200 employees at Homecare to volunteer their time to help with fundraising activities. Once money has been raised our committee seeks nominations from the public who nominate someone who they feel warrants a iCare Wish. We assess those nominations and grant wishes as and when we choose the successful nominations.
