Public benefits

The purposes of Christian Fellowship Trust are to spread the message of the Lord Jesus Christ and to encourage Christians to grow in their faith by any means consistent with the Statement of Faith set out in the Schedule. The direct benefits which flow from this purpose include - The provision of free education in an english medium school to

children in India who otherwise would be unschooled and consequentially have no opportunity to enter second level education. CFT assist financially with the provision of health care services in Africa, these funds are targeted at blind and disabled persons who are also assisted with integration back into work. CFT contribute to the building cost of orphanages in India. These establishments provide homes for “street children” and undertake to locate the children in education and thus offer the opportunity fot them to escape the poverty cycle in which they otherwise would be trapped. CFT assist with the provision of church premises in Romania and Serbia these premises provide accommodation for religious and social activities in areas of high deprivation where no such accommodation exists and thus benefits the local communities. These benefits can be demonstrated by the overall success achieved in transforming the lives and opportunities afforded to deprived children in education. The change of lifestyle achieved by the orphanage children. The restoration of eyesight and the provision of work opportunities for those previously excluded. Community accommodation has contributed to improved relations in the areas mentioned. The beneficiaries are deprived children and adults and those medically unfit for work. There is no harm flowing from this purpose and CFT would wish to make it clear that our assistance provided is non-discriminatory and reflects our stated purpose but receipt of assistance is not conditional on agreement of this purpose. There is no private benefit flowing from this purpose.

What your organisation does

CFT provide funds to Duncan Academy in Raxaul, Bihar, India. This is a Christian school providing education to Hindu, Muslim and Christian children. The funds provided are used by the school to cover the education costs of poorer families whose children would otherwise not attend any school. This funding has been ongoing for some 10+ years and has

become a vital element of the school’s income. CFT regularly contributes funds to CBM International, a medical mission working with disabled people in various African countries. We receive requests for “one off” financial assistance and during the past years have provided funding to assist in three church building projects, two in Romania and one in Serbia. We have provided some funding to assist in the building of three orphanages in India and a school in Uganda. We have assisted with the publication of Christian literature and provided assistance to numerous other small projects. While we seek to assist others with similar Christian objectives, we require those to whom we supply funding to be non-discriminatory in the use of the funds provided. CFT received a large donation from another charitable trust some years ago and this has been our major source of funding. We do not make any public appeals and are only in receipt of other funds given to support projects we are assisting.
