Aid to the Church in Need Ireland – Public benefit statement a. Advance the Christian religion by supporting and promoting the Church especially in countries where Christians are suffering persecution or discrimination The direct benefits which flow from this purpose include: • The provision of aid, assistance and care to those who are
suffering and being persecuted on account of their Christian faith; • Providing a voice to the voiceless, as well as informing public and policy on the workings of the Christian faith; • The advancement of the Christian religion by supporting priests in need through Mass stipends; • Providing priests, religious and Church works with mobility to enable travel in pursuit of their Christian undertakings; • Providing catechetical materials in hard and soft copies in person and via electronic media to advance the Christian and increase education and awareness; • The provision of support to contemplative nuns and active religion to meet their basic needs; • Increasing support for the use of Mass media to make known the name of the Lord, for example, via radio stations. These benefits can be demonstrated by: • The numbers of pastoral projects carried out each year. In 2014, over 5,000 pastoral projects located in more than 145 countries received support. b. Further the other charitable work of the Church by providing practical assistance and pastoral care for persons in need, especially those who are living in or are refugees from such countries. The direct benefits which flow from this purpose include: • The provision of aid, assistance and care to those who are suffering and being persecuted on account of their Christian faith. • Priests are supported through various ways and means to advance the charitable work of the Church and advance the Christian faith. These benefits can be demonstrated by: • The numbers of pastoral projects carried out each year. In 2014, over 5,000 pastoral projects located in more than 145 countries received support. c. Form part of the International Association named ‘Aid to the Church in Need’ (a.k.a. ACN) and abide by the spiritual and pastoral mission and values of the international association in furthering the objectives. The direct benefits which flow from this purpose include: • The strengthening of the Church in its efforts to provide worldwide, integral human development in Charity and Truth. These benefits can be demonstrated by: • The numbers of pastoral projects carried out each year. In 2014, over 5,000 pastoral projects located in more than 145 countries received support. The charity’s beneficiaries are the poor and those in need throughout the world. There is no harm flowing from the purposes. There is no private benefit flowing from the purposes.

In pursuit of our stated objectives and the furtherance of the charitable objectives of the Papal Foundation, Aid to the Church in need (International), we, as Aid to the Church in Need Ireland solicit prayers and accept donations from benefactors, to allow us to promote the pastoral work of the Church throughout the world. Putting to good use the
funds collected, through ACN's international headquarters in Konigstein, Germany, over 5,500 pastoral projects located in more than 135 countries receive support every year. here of the charitable objects of our the Papal foundation (Aid to the Church in Need International), we, as Aid to the Church in Need (Ireland) are one of 20 national offices located throughout the world which solicits and accepts from the public, prayers and material support to allow the pontifical Charity promote the pastoral work of the Roman Catholic Church throughout the world. Utilising the funds collected, through ACN’s International headquarters in Konigstein, Germany over 5,000 pastoral projects located in more than 130 countries receive support every year. In supporting and undertaking such projects we help with: • Supporting priests in need through Mass stipends • Providing various modes of transport to priests, religious and pastoral workers to assist them with their work • The provision of catechetical materials in hard and soft copy format • The education of priests, religious and lay people • Help support the welfare of contemplative nuns and active religious • Support the use of Mass media to make known the message of Jesus of Nazareth • Promoting the social teaching of the church in coming to the aid of those who are suffering and being persecuted on account of their faith.
