Public benefits

The Trust only donates to charitable institutions that exist to meet one or more of the charitable purposes required by the law. The Public Benefit Requirement is met, in the first instance, by ensuring donations are to registered charities that have, by registration, demonstrated that they meet the Requirement. The main areas of activity by the

Trust are a) the advancement of religion - the Public Benefit accrues from support of Christian witness and outreach and the provision of spiritual and practical support which is freely available to all who seek to avail of it. b) the advancement of health or the saving of lives - support is given to medical research, end of life care and humanitarian aid and the Public Benefit is experienced ultimately by the success of research or by the recipients, and their families, of the care or aid. The Public Benefit is derived mainly, but not exclusively, in Northern Ireland. There is no Private Benefit or harm arising from the Trust's activities.
