Public benefits

BCDA's work to promote its public benefit requirement and the achievement of its charitable Objectives utilise the organisation itself as the vehicle to achieve a) its vision' of a 'vibrant community association with a generous spirit supported by a dynamic community association which acts a catalyst for change and development ' and to work

towards the Objectives below:- 'to promote the benefit of the inhabitants of Ballynafeigh and its environs ( the “area of benefit”) without distinction of sex, sexual orientation, age, race, ethnicity, or political, religious or other opinion by associating with voluntary and community organisations, statutory agencies and inhabitants in a common effort to: (a) advance community development by providing resources, facilities, amenities, support and information for community and voluntary groups and organisations and encouraging and assisting such organisations to co-operate to achieve their aims; (b) promote shared neighbourhood, good relations and equality and diversity; (c) advance education and training; (d) to develop the capacity and skills of residents of the area of benefit, an area of social and economic disadvantage, in such a way that they are better able to identify, and help meet, their needs and to participate more fully in society. (e) relieve those in need by reason of youth, age, ill health, disability, financial hardship or other disadvantage; (f) promote such other charitable purposes as may from time to time be determined'

What your organisation does

BCDA works to promote the the benefit of the inhabitants of Ballynafeigh and its environs, (the “area of benefit”) without distinction of sex, sexual orientation, age, race, ethnicity, or political, religious or other opinion by associating with voluntary and community organisations, statutory agencies and inhabitants in a common effort by

:- (a) advancing and implementing community development programmes and practice through providing resources, facilities, amenities, facilitating capacity building support, knowledge and information for community and voluntary groups and organisations as well as encouraging and assisting such organisations to co-operate with others as appropriate in order to achieve their aims; (b) actively promoting exploring and further developing the principles and practice of shared neighbourhood, good relations and equality and diversity; (c) advancing education and training by developing and delivering training and learning programmes, capacity building and skills development initiatives for individuals and groups; (d) developing the capacity of and developing and targeting programmes to meet the support and information needs of the most vulnerable residents of the area of benefit, an area of social and economic disadvantage in such a way that they are better able to identify, and help meet, their needs and to participate more fully in society, including by promoting cooperation eth other groups and agencies and providing, thereby enhancing access to knowledge, information and welfare support; (e) relieving those in need by reason of youth, age, ill health, disability, financial hardship or by reason of other disadvantage through the delivery of identified and targeted initiatives and support; (f) promoting such other charitable purposes which facilitate the achievement of these Charitable Objects as may from time to time be determined; e.g. via means such as the arts and other and creative programmes.
