Public benefits
The direct benefit: The enjoyment & engagement that is seen in all age groups of the community when participating in our activities, whether that be from taking part in arts & crafts classes, dance sessions or fun days. This improves the quality of life, brings fulfilment & teaches new skills for all users, young & old. The evidence to demonstrate
the benefit: The wide range of ages using our hall & the positive feedback received from users. Our funders ask for written comments from class attendees for future reference. We have lots of arts & craftwork on display on the walls around our hall carried out by users over the years. We have an annual “open day” for the public to showcase the work done by those attending classes at our premises. Any harm arising from this: Accidents on our premises are extremely rare as evidence in our accident book shows. Who are the beneficiaries: The residents of the village & those in the surrounding areas who use our facilities have a community centre to be proud of despite the limitations of space. We have even attracted people from Banbridge & Dromore to our activities. Any private benefit: Some private benefit is gained by small local businesses when using our premises e.g. a wine tasting evening run by the village off-licence. This might be done on one occasion a year.
