The benefit which flows from this purpose includes improvement in conditions for the life of the senior citizens, to improve their health and well-being. The purpose which flows includes increased participation, in activities and events to ensure
the attainment of the senior citizens to increase their skill, enjoyment and social interaction, improvement in mental and physical health. This is demonstrated through having access to resources, equipment which would not otherwise be available. The purpose will not lead to harm. The benefit is for all of the senior citizens of Toome and its surrounding districts. This is demonstrated through having an active senior citizens club. The benefit is incidental and necessary to ensure the benefit is provided to all beneficiaries. Advancement in education, training and health promotion for the older people and their carers. The benefit which flows from this purpose will be enhanced knowledge and understanding through the training and information provided to the senior citizens and their carers. The benefits are demonstrated through the results achieved, regular feedback from those and evaluation of the services and training provided. This purpose does not lead to harm. The benefit is for the senior citizens and carers from Toome and its surrounding districts, specifically those who have or will attend the training, information talks and courses on offer. The benefit is incidental and necessary to ensure the benefit is provided to all beneficiaries. Toome & District Senior Citizens Club supply transport services for older people in Toome and its surrounding districts to the club and its activities. The benefit which flows from this purpose includes improvement in the conditions for the life of the seniors and to reduce the chances of social isolation happening. It leads to increased participation, in activities and events. This is demonstrated through having access to transport which would not otherwise be available and through providing opportunities to meet and interact and make the necessary journeys required to the fortnightly meetings and any day trip, events organised. The purpose will not lead to harm. The benefit is for all of the elderly within Toome and its surrounding area and is incidental and necessary to ensure the benefit is provided to all beneficiaries. Toome & District Senior Citizens Club raises awareness to the general public of the needs and experience of older people in the Toome and surrounding area. The benefit which flows from this purpose includes improvement in information and awareness levels among the general public so as to improve the health and well-being of the older people of the area. The purpose which flows is to increase awareness levels. The purpose will not lead to harm. The benefit is for all of the older people, within Toome and its surrounding area and is incidental and necessary to ensure the benefit is provided to all beneficiaries. This is demonstrated through the partnership and networking within the community and other bodies to promote research, talks and training courses.

Toome & District Seniors Citizens Club are a group made up of 70 members who are in the over 55age group who meet at Gortgill Community Hall every fortnight on a Monday evening. The group is open to all over retired people and welcomes this age group, male and female, from any religious or ethnic minority, able bodied or with disabilities from
within the Toome and surrounding area and districts. The group was set up to provide this age group with the opportunity to learn new skills, interact, benefit from leisure and recreational activities. it is also a chance to socialise with others within the Toome and surrounding areas. Past activities have included fitness through dance, training in events organisation, talks on safety in the home, health and safety, home security, the sponsored walk which takes place every 3-4 years. The club also organises days out which has included trips to Newcastle, Bangor, Banbridge, Larne, Letterkenny etc and have organised dinner dances. The community group has been existence for the past 39 years.
