Public benefits
Our beneficiaries are the elderly residents of Seymour Gardens Residential Home. Purpose: To advance the health and the relief of those in need by reason of age, ill health. The benefit of this work is that there is improved health outcomes for our residents as they don’t feel so isolated and they are actively engaging with others both inside
and outside of the Home. This is demonstrated by providing facilities and activities which help the residents to remain active and interact socially with others. For example we have made a purpose built allotment and garden at the residential home so that all the residents can use it. We also organise festive parties and social outings which helps the residents to get out into the community eg trips to the cinema, theatre and bowling alley. We also consult with residents and their families about other activities that they would like to do. Purpose: the advancement of education of local schools and the wider community about Alzheimer’s disease. The beneficiaries from this purpose are both the residents of the Home and the young people and the wider community. The benefit of this work is that young people and the wider community have enhanced knowledge and a better understanding of Alzheimer’s disease. This is demonstrated by our working together with local schools to encourage the young people to spend time with the residents and their families. There is no harm or private benefit from our charity.
