Public benefits

Purpose (Object) 4A The direct benefits which flow from our object or purpose include giving people a meeting place to get together with others to enjoy social interaction and to take part in activities of a social and recreational nature. The participants learn new skills and share their own knowledge and skills with each other. They will

occasionally play sports, including bowling and Ju Jitsu, to improve health and social interaction. We organise and run dances and concerts on a regular basis to bring people together and provide revenue for the Hall. We also make our hall available to other groups to run classes and other events to improve people`s quality of life. We provide neutral space in Crossgar village which will be promoted to the whole community regardless of religion, ethnic origin or personal background to encourage better community relations. These benefits are demonstrated through feedback from participants and beneficiaries and by the level of uptake of our activities. The purposes of our charity will not lead to any harm. The charity’s beneficiaries are people living in the Crossgar area of Down District and many travel from further afield to enjoy the halls activities. A private benefit to trustees may arise from our activities and classes, such as dancing and gardening. Through these activities trustees may gain skills and experience which are transferable to other settings. These benefits are incidental and necessary to ensure the benefit is provided to our beneficiaries. Purpose (Object) 4B The direct benefits which flow from purpose 4B includes any charitable activity such as the future possibility of extending the Hall to increase capacity. We would also regularly encourage people to become active in a voluntary capacity, organise groups if required and use our facilities and the activities within our centre to make life better for themselves and their neighbours. These benefits are demonstrated through the number of groups and individuals using our facilities and through any feedback which they give us and by the level of uptake of our facilities and activities. The purposes of our charity will not lead to any harm. The charity’s beneficiaries are people living in the Crossgar area of Down District. There will be no private benefit to trustees.
