WHAT BENEFIT FLOWS FROM THIS PURPOSE? The Orchard Club provides a social outlet for people with a visual impairment many of whom do not attend any other Groups. THE DIRECT BENEFITS WHICH FLOW FROM THE PURPOSE INCLUDE - Improved emotional wellbeing of members who attend - Respite for family members and Carers - People with visual impairment being

able to participate in a range of activities which take place at the Group - Meet people with same type of disability who can support each other - By being involved in local issues within the area which may affect people with disabilities e.g. access, consultations by other Organistations CAN YOU DEMONSTRATE THIS? - Feedback from members and family members/carers - Members enjoy the activities at the Visually Impaired Club and are encouraged to make suggestions e.g. suitable speakers, outings THESE BENEFITS ARE DEMONSTRATED THROUGH ... A wide range of activities to suit capabilities of members The Club is run totally by the members and some volunteers We also receive support and information from the staff in the Sensory Disability Team and RNIB IS ANY HARM OR POSSIBILITY OF HARM OUTWEIGHED BY THE BENEFIT? Yes CLUB'S BENEFICARIES Adults with a visual impairment Their family members and carers IS THERE PRIVATE BENEFIT? There is no private benefit

What your organisation does

The Orchard Social Club for Visually Impaired People meets twice per month in Armagh Community Centre. They provide social support and a range of activities e.g. speakers to the Club, outings to the Theatre, bus trips, quiz, summer outing, Christmas dinner.

Charitable purposes

The Orchard Social Club promotes the welfare of all visually impaired people in the Armagh and District Council area by offering them the opportunity to meet each other and to engage in a range of social, recreational and sporting activities together.
