Public benefits
Benefit to the community at large through educating people about the beliefs of others, reducing prejudice through knowledge and understanding, and offering practical ways in which people from different faith communities can meet, learn about each other, and discuss matters of common interest. In schools and community groups sharing not only
educational information about different religions – a benefit in itself since it reduces the prejudice based on ignorance – but developing a concept of society in which all religious groups can consult and work together for common good. Enhancing community cohesion through the development of informed respect between members of different communities. Strengthening society by giving a voice to faith groups that feel marginalised and encouraging their participation in wider community issues, as well by helping the larger faith communities understand the position and perceptions of these smaller groups, things that may otherwise stop their members’ full involvement in local society. The benefits are capable of being demonstrated by feedback and there is no private benefit or harm.

Promotes, encourages and develops understanding and dialogue between members of different faith communities in the North-Western part of Northern Ireland, facilitating dialogue and the sharing of information between them, providing channels for this to take place. Arranges gatherings for members of faith communities to learn about each others'
beliefs, and to discuss matters of common concern. Takes part in educational programmes in schools and community groups to share knowledge of different faiths and how they can work together, explaining the role of interfaith in brining people together promoting respect and developing wider community values and solidarity. Arranges multi-faith group visits to local places of worship to learn about the beliefs of others in a spirit of respect. Provides information about the beliefs and practices to public bodies, with emphasis on aspects of which the body should be aware in the delivery of its services. Provides a way for smaller religious communities which for whatever reason (size, culture, language etc.) have felt unable to engage fully with society to become empowered and participate more fully.
